My phantom 4 definitely did a firmware update 2 days ago, after I had downloaded the new App update??
Thats a bit worrying..........

What version does it say it is?

Dont know.
Will check when I get home tonight but it definitely did a firmware update for the dro e and the batteries I think!!

Are you sure your not talking about  Firmware Version: 1.2.602 for the AC this was released on the 2016-11-08 and that had the battery firmware update as well. I still haven't updated to that firmware yet.

Hmm, not sure will check tonight.
I got a replacement  drone from DJI last month.
I activated it and then took it for a 15 min test flight. All was pretty much OK. A small issue with slow loss of height in the hover but that will be investigated further next flight.

Anyway, a few days ago I updat d the dji go app on my ipad.

When I then plugged in the drone, it told me there was a firmware update to do, so I did it!

Afterwards, it gave a battery voltage problem on the second battery but it then seemed to clear itself, I think it updated the battery?

I will check tonight which firmware I have and post back......

Seems odd that DJI would supply a new drone with out of date firmware on it!!!

Ah OK, looks like DJI never updated the drone......

App 4.0.5
Controller 1.8.0
App database 00.00.01.04

So looks like Im waiting for a new firmware like everyone else....

I tend to hold off on updates until I see how they pan out.

Dji 4 ver 4.0.6 missing Gesture, Terrain follow, Draw modes compare to ver 4.0.5 (non-beta-tester-user)
Dji please put those features back for our P4.

New user here. P4, all updated, with Samsung Tab4 with 4.05. Video feed is very glitchy. Didn't have the problem on my iPhone. What other info do you need? What do I check?

On my Phantom 4 there are Normal, Draw, Gesture, ActiveTrack, TapFly, Tripod, Terrain Follow, Point of Interest, Follow Me Mode, Waypoints, Home Lock and Course Lock.  But remember, those of us who upgraded to the beta firmware on the aircraft Version 02.00.0012 could no longer downgrade so we are still running that firmware even though the additional features dissappeared once the beta test was over.  My point is, that if some of you aren't seeing all the features mentioned above, that might be the reason.  Hope that makes sense.

What do you mean the additional features disappeared once the beta test was over? I'm on AC V02.00.0012 and Android GO4 V4.0.5 and I still have ALL the beta features working.

So is V02.00.0012 the beta firmware?  I'm getting lost here in the firmware versions.   

I've got 01.02.0602 and have no method of updating it.  No upgrades show in DJI Assistant 2.

01.02.0602 has been out for at least eight moths, yet about every week since then I see a post with someone saying "I just updated my firmware and.....

What gives????

Yes V02.00.0012 is the Beta version and unavailable to non Beta testers.

As of 05/27, ugraded app to 4.1.0. The ' terrain follow ' mode disappeared in the controller option menu. It was there in 4.0.5. I have a P4, it does not see that spec. or tested it. I thought it is only available in P4P, though the VPS looks the same. Have not seen a firmware update for P4 to enable this feature.

As of 05/28/2017, did not see a firmware update on the P4 to enable the 'terrain follow' feature. This feature is not shown in 4.1.0.

None of that is here at all for P4 on both Android and iOS apps.  Neither show any firmware updates either

Yeah but Jim is on the beta firmware...A painful storyblisted in the relevant thread DJI blatantly ignores. It's not the first time thesr features accidentally showed up, bt a firmware update seems to be required to have them functional.
