Looking for recomendations on the best way to get educated for the part 107 test. Ive been looking at remotepilots101, but figured I would get some info from the vast knowledge and experience on this site before pulling the trigger.

Thanks in advance for your help

There are study guides / practice questions and even paid apps to help you study. Just search part 107 studying. Also a lot of resourceful information and links from Faa.gov and a free course you can take.

I used remotepilot101 and loved it. I just watched all of his videos and took the practice exam a few times. I felt prepared enough to take the test, so I gave it a try and I scored a 94. I highly recommend remotepilot101. Although...it is taking the FAA way too long to deliver on their end. I submitted my application for the license on December 1, 2016. Over three months later, I still haven't received my physical license. Best of luck to you!

Three months is a bit long.  Most people report just less than two months to get the card, while you should get your temporary certification in less than two weeks after taking the exam.  Did you register on FAA IACRA?

I recommend http://www.dronepilotgroundschool.com/.  It's not free, but it's kept up to date, has a bunch of practice exams, and is valid (your registration) for five years, so you can revisit when you're renewing.

Also, 3DR has a good study guide https://3dr.com/faa/study-guides/ and practice tests https://3dr.com/faa/drone-practice-tests/, all free.

You'll probably want to download the official FAA study guide.  Start here: https://www.faa.gov/uas/

I used Remote 101 and it was all good. I spent all day one Sunday watching all the videos and then did a quick review just before the test and got an 86. Might be some OK free study guides out there but Remote 101 is a sure bet

Glad it works for you. Did the exam or the study actually help you fly an DJI drone?  I mean the theoretical study in it.

Yep, I registered with IACRA. I've been checking IACRA periodically and now my license number shows up when I sign in...so maybe they're close. I hope they hurry up because my temp certificate is only valid for 3 more weeks.

Yay!  You're close, then!  My card showed up a little more than a week after my # showed up on IACRA.

Jumping in a bit... the FAA study guides will help you understand WHERE and WHEN you can fly a sUAS, but it won't teach you HOW to fly a sUAS.  Some folks take hands-on courses to get that exposure.  Or you could watch all the tutorials available out there specific to your system.  Lots of options.

I took the Remotepilot101 course and passed the Part 107 knowledge test with a 95%.  I'm 60 years young and never thought I could wrap my brain around all this new info, but the course really helped me understand everything on the test.  Good luck!

I also purchased this study course...there is nothing in the course to educate one on flying a drove.  The course was 100% focused on questions and competencies needed to past the Part 107 Knowledge Test.  I found the course was extremely helpful and informative.
