Have a new dji Mavic pro. Thought it a good idea before the day comes where a technical or muppet pilot failure occurs and my done flies off or i park in some scrub, that i  attach some kind of tracking device.

What's a suggestion for finding a lost drone via a 3rd party device? Any body have recommendations for whats worked for them?
I fly in New Zealand at the moment but plan on Bali and finding things in that jungle will be a bugger without help

You can get a tracker from a company called Marshalls falconry that I use for tracking falcons. It works off GPS and gives you all details of flight - speed height, last known position. Ive used it on drones and it works well. approx £800.00

More jungle in Bali than in Coromandel Forest Park ?    Ever tried if Motiti Island is within MP reach ?

The three I've seen most often recommended are the

- RF-V16 - I think it can only send data through a 2G cell network
- Trackimo - Supports 3G
- Marco Polo - Doesn't rely on a cell network. You track it using a separate handheld tracking device.

Look at TBeacon. Something like Marco Polo, but cheaper, lighter, and somewhere better than Marco Polo.

ur right of course Angelo26; our scrub can be very dense as well! its amazing how these things can disappear within a few metres in some of these locations requiring a hard-as search!

i also thought of basics which i have yet to do;
sticky tape with my phone number on it lol.
Also a bluetooth tile. so on the occasions i jandle it into scrub or trees, and enough gps data knows what direction i went, i can narrow down the search further.
