Thanks alot mike! I'm sure this will help most new pilots that are eager to fly but still nervous. Only thing I didn't do was check and choose a wifi channel. This is a great list to include in every inspire case! It's also handy if you get carried away showing off your inspire to bystanders. It's a bit harder to keep track of all the preparations that way ;)

xzces I left mine in auto forever and worked just fine at the point in making that list I was playing with selecting a channel which I don't think you need to. Where your flying if you  have a problem in auto then I would try picking a cleaner channel....

I'm currently flying in an almost radiofree area and only in a range of max 250-300m. I did lose video feed on two occasions but luckily always maintained tx control. I always assumed auto mode would pick the correct channel but I will certainly check it next time I'm flying.

I know when I pick Auto on my Nikon D3s I get ok pictures but when I put in in manual mode I get killer pictures . It's all about being comfortable and know what your changing and why your changing it. Changing it and not having a clue on why can always end up badly!!!! Read Read Read and no your machine..... According to FAA regulations I believe you are correct you are limited to just 2 "SPARE" TB48 batteries however I believe they will allow you to place a 3rd TB48 in the inspire and it will be considered a part of the machine as opposed to "spare".

Then you can bring as many additional TB47 batteries as you like!

That may be true.  However, I am only planning on traveling with 2 of the TB48s,  and 3-5 of the TB47s.  The extra 3-4 minutes is just not worth it to me. for the hassle.  I don't need an argument in the TSA line.  However, that being said I have never had TSA ask to open my Inspire case.  They have asked to open My Tradecraft P2Z3 case.  But never the Inspire.

I agree Ed,

I think it is not worth the risk and hasle to take the TB48 on flights as all it takes is a guy on the x-ray machine at the airport to be fussy and this is not what you want when already stressed about flying in the first place.

I think I will follow your lead and get extra TB47

I had the same situation. I ordered 2 additionial tb48 and 2 chargers with my inspire, but my distributor just told me it will take at least 3 more weeks. I just ordered from a dutch dealer 2 TB47s+chargers, so I can fly at least some time. Its really shitty to fly with one battery, you just have the time to do some shots and identify the scenes you want to capture properly, you are out of juice and you need to charge for 1.5 hour. That's why I decided to not to wait anymore. I will have my batteries in few days, and additional ones in a month the more the better

I fly all the time between Las Vegas and Reno on Southwest Airlines.  I have never had an issue taking my Inspire on as carry on.  It fits in the overhead bin but yes it is a little large.  It has never been a problem.

I was just clarifying that you actually took on the 2x TB48 and additionl TB47 into cabin at same time.

Yes.  You can carry an unlimited amount of TB47's but only 2 TB48's.  However, since they never opened up the case, they all could have been TB48's.  I would never do that but it is possible.

Just unsure now where to buy the TB47 for a reasonable price in the UK or Europe given the £40+ increase in prices since last week.  May have to look elswehere than a DJI dealer if they are going to rip us off like that.

That's why it's good to have a mixture of 47's and 48's as I do intent on flying so that's why I wanted at least 4 47's with a couple 48's and just bring 6 chargers and all will be well.....

Mine have been great. I've had no issues, I know someone some time ago posted some with lots of clouds in there maps. I haven't experienced that.
