No alerts/warnings/ motices about upgrading the batteriy, so I put in turn the other two I have (all are the new type) and for them too I didn't get any prompts about the need for an upgrade. In the battery menu in the DJI GO4 the three batteries showed "Status: Normal"

Continued:  Does this mean that I am done and my batteries did NOT need to be upgraded, and I can fly safely?

Anyone found the gimbal lock function yet? I can't seem to find it anywhere....

Ah never mind! It would appear that it's located in the camera settings, middle right, NOT in the menus top right.

NEW FIRMWARE,  with the last update the have put the feather of OFF LINE MAPS.   I clicked on the new ICON and went through the menu and down loaded my state. NOW WHAT?  I still seem to have it connected to WIFI to have a map.  And... whats up with these maps on the PLUS version. They are old and outdated and bad quality.  Mavic Pro uses google maps and they are nice.  Any help from someone?   Thank,

I had only had my P4P a few days, but have owned my P4 for about six months now. Something that I have noticed at Healthy Drones is that the battery information isn't as detailed coming out of the P4P as it is on the P4. Is this due to the firmware update? You used to be able to see how much "life" was left in the battery.. On a side note, I have noticed when changing between the two drones, they both want to update the firmware on the batteries.. Is DJI trying to rewrite everything about the Phantom series for some reason?  What would be the reasoning for having to update the battery firmware anyways?  

I also noted in this new firmware you cannot go over 45 mph in sport mode now... You can actually hear the drone keeping its speed governed as you do a fly by - not very smooth anymore (though it appears ok on screen).. I'm glad I have my P4 for fun still I guess.

Do the DJI developers and FlySafe developers ever communicate?  "Updated No-Fly Zone Management" means unlocking of restricted zones is now broken.  Anyone flying commercially in an unlocked area is now losing money.

I absolutely downgraded back to my working 1.02. This latest update is dangerous for the drone and it's pilot. It completely screwed my drone up to where it was drifting all over the place as well as losing and gaining altitude. DO NOT USE 1.03!!!

1. which drone?
2. which firmware of the Drone?
3. which firmware of the Remote Controller?
4. which tablet (make - version of operation system)

Would be nice to add this information on EVERY remark that is made...

And actually what I am curious about is the update that Litchi just released a few days ago.. Did that fix the problem? Something weird is going on with all these updates lately. Too many with more bugs than the last ones.

Why would DJI give a rats ass about Litchi?  I could care less about third party apps and their suitability with DJI. . What I want to know is when IS DJI going to fix the issues associated with shooting video at 4k 60 Frames. thats the BIG issue here!!!

Well, you don't need to care - but there are some of us who do care. There is an issue with the 60FPS 4k video I agree, but there are also other issues as well including the horizon tilt issue.

ALL TRUE.  But why would DJI care about a third party app? Not their concern.  If you install it, then its on you if there is conflicts!  Not their concerns!!!

Are you talking about the P4P+ ?

My phantom 4pro after the new update firmware is moving  all over he don't hover in 1.2m  it  flay away to the maximum high  he is not in control  I go through the new firmware in I get vice recording In my phantom 4pro my camera is not working perfect

I still want to know if anyone has tried out the top speed of their Phantoms after the update. Is it just me or did they really limit the speed to 45mph even with a tailwind?

I'm am so completely over this! Come on Dji.. Lets get with the program here please...

the top speed of the P4P / + is (per specifications) :
Max Speed
S-mode: 45 mph (72 kph)
A-mode: 36 mph (58 kph)
P-mode: 31 mph (50 kph)

Anyway, how much was your tailwind?

My P4 standard was hitting 55 mph with the tailwind, my P4P was staying at 45 with the tailwind..
Both flown within minutes of each other btw.

Gimbal issue still an issue.  Followed instructions and refreshed the firmware, did an IMU calc, gimbal etc and it's still off. Getting close to asking for my money back £1589!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a simple list in NotePad with the most recent info. Easy to change Version numbers and release dates. It would be nice and USEFUL when you have a complaint or problem or remark to add more info to your post... My list looks like this and so it is clear what I am talking about:

Last Thursday the weather allowed me to make a few flights after quite some time. In the meantime I had to upgrade firmware and to uptate apps. I started with a few short flights (after reading all these posts) and all went very well. I took some pictures, recorded some video and all went well. Then I decided to put in a second battery and make a flight.. not too far... not too high until the battery was around 12%...
I only had one small problem (I lost my return video, but that came back after a second or 3) I made quite some curves at various speeds... and was reallt happy this Phantom 4 Pro flies... I recorde the whole flight, using Autofocus, took pictures during this and all came out perfect....

Yep, I'm having problems after upgrading. My controller locked up twice while in flight!  

It's such a strange thing - this constant battle that seems to go on with DJI releasing poor quality updates - clearly that have not been throughly tested before release. Your kinda damned if you do damned if you don't. I really love my P4P but my faith in DJI as a serious company is very low - I don't think I'd ever spend money with them again until they sort their quality control out, the documentation of issues is numerous yet they will not do anything about them and in many cases issue firmware that actually makes those problems worse.

For those with P4P+: Why would you (DJI) include the WeChat app and not the DJI GS Pro (Ground Station) app in the new firmware update?

I purchased my P4P+ for commercial use and now I feel I have wasted money as I cannot use it without the GS Pro or any othe survey apps!
Please advise if there is a no cost fix for this problem?

I think that currently your only chance (at a cost...) is to buy a  GL300F controller (without the  android tablet) and use it with a suitable iPad.

I may be wrong, but I think it is up to the developers to make sure that their products comply with changes made by DJI in DJI software.  At least as long as DJI keeps providing them with up-to date- SDKs...   https://developer.dji.com/mobile-sdk/

You made the correct choice. The "older" version of firmware is provided to give you the option of downgrading to previous firmware version if you suspect there is problem/bug with the current (newest) firmware.
Some (not all) firmware upgrades include battery firmware upgrades. So, be sure to turn off your P4 Pro after upgrading firmware, place your second/third/etc. spare battery in the P4 Pro and turn the power back on. If the battery firmware requires updating you will get a notice about "inconsistent firmware" and a request to update. Go ahead and start the upgrade process from the DJI GO 4 screen and the battery firmware will be updated in less than 30 seconds typically. You can tell the battery firmware is being updated because the battery LED lights will change to a non-normal display with multiple LEDs on and others blinking.

anyone having issues with their p4p going in and out of screen signal (ipad mini 2 also brand new only has dji app on it) then screen will also go green for no apparent reason. I have tried both 2.4 ghz and the 5.8 both go green and flash in and out of signal also I fly only line of sight.

just wondering what do they mean update no fly zone management??

Well before this update, I couldnot fly my Quad at my home because I was inside but edge of the red circle on no fly because I live 20 miles from DC. After this updates, it gives me warning but lets me fly my Quad. In my opinion it was very nice update for me, otherwise I have to drive far to fly.

Hi Dji can you or any fellow forum users please tell me when it will be possible to use a second controller in "slave mode" to enable a second remote hdmi output of the p4p. I am forced to still use my phantom 2 with lightbridge when I am doing jobs live to a giant led screen with the input nowhere near the pilots position
