Hello All,

I have been messing with my new Mavic the past few days in Colorado. Other than the fact that I have blur on the right side of my image I love this drone.
*DISCLAIMER* All of this video was recorded outside of all no fly zones and I never flew this flight more than 150feet or so from the ground level. The shot with the fighter jets happened about 10 mintes into my flight and I did not know they were in the air nor did I know they would be flying so damn low. Thanks for watching!

Thank you! I used some random LUTS that I found and it made it look a bit over the top so I toned it down quite a bit. I am happy with the results.

I was flying with a friend of mine who also owns a mavic so I recorded him recording me   Unfortunately I didnt have anything recording sound so I had to borrow a sound effect to put in the video but I think it fits in well.

Nice video. However this video also shows two of the most common problems with the Mavic that affect a lot of people. Most people dont notice it so i hate to be be ruining your day, but the video shows:
1- The water paint effect of the mavic. other than the scenes with the mountain region, those trees look like crap.
2- Your camera has a serious blurr issue in the bottom right quadrant of the image.

Yeah the trees on the right side look very blurry, I agree. I don't see blur on the bottom left.

Freakin Dji. Can't believe they get away with selling these. Not to rant, but the mavic has quite a few problems and Dji doesn't give a f***

Regarding the fighter jets, where you in any particular mode (tripod, cinematic..) while filming?  The panning on that sequence is really good, especially since you said it was a surprise.   For me, that (and the gimbal control) are still really tricky.

You scared me for a minute. DJI knows about the issue and I think they're trying to avoid a recall at least until they have a solution. Maybe sensor was misaligned during manufacturing or something. Who knows.

They flew directly over my head and then circled in front of where I was so I had a few seconds to prepare myself. That being said the panning was quite jerky but I ran it through stabilization in Final Cut Pro and that smoothed it out quite a bit and made it looks as if it was a smooth constant speed.

Have you tried D-Log or D-Cinalike? I think the video could be greatly enchanced with some tweaking on the colors.

This video was actually filmed in D-Cinelike. Just learning to edit and play with color. Hopefully with more practice and time I can master it!

How is you're video so smooth?  Mine keeps giving me choppy videos every single flight.  Is there a special setting that I'm missing or a particular micro sd card I need to be using?

You have any example videos online anywhere? I am not using any sort of special settings.

Great footage, nice tracking of the jets. Shame about the horrible blurring on the right side. Hope mine doesn't do that when I get my replacement.

Nice video. Check a Sectional see if there is a Military Flight Route there.

First off, nice video. The other Mavic, and the fighter jets, really added to it. I'm a Colorado native and love mountain scenery. Colorado Springs is home to the very famous Air Force Academy. It is to the North of the city and fighter jets are always flying around there. I'm actually surprised that it said you were not in a no-fly zone. You must've been outside of the 5 mile radius, even though it was a military base.  

Good video though.

make sure you are in at least 30FPS or higher in your setting. And try using cinema mode if you are trying to capture a setting/scene.  Also, anytime you use automated flying (waypoints or the mode where you drag your finger on the screen to the point you want to go to) and set the speed of the Mavic to travel very slowly during it's auto flight? You'll get VERY smooth video
