I've seen  numerous threads about crashed/  broken inspire 1. Always sad to read given the cost of the quad copter.

I was wondering how does DJI charges for repairs: outrageously expensive or very fair?

For the ones that experienced DJI repair, could you please post what was repaired/replaced and the cost for it?

The posts that I've seen about repair charges range from reasonable to (in the user's opinion) exorbitant.
Some damages require the replacement of an entire sub-assembly.
If that's the case, unbroken components will be replaced along with the damaged ones, and the cost may seem excessive.
FWIW, some users have been surprised at the reasonableness of the charges.

Remember that everything is relative...
If you drive a Ferrari, travel the world, and consider the I1 a toy, paying half its price for repairs is insignificant...

I thought the price I paid for repair was within expectation.

if not thats a hefty repair bill, about 50% of US price to buy new.

I remember blade strike saying that your expense  shouldn't be anywhere near 1600. The price to replace the camera is $550 online. Did you already pay this amount?

No, after a long and hard discussion they suggested 50% discount... So No warranty. They now saying it was a CNC (motor stop) in the 3 feet air caused the crash.

Man you guys are scaring me, I was putting on a flight demonstration for local law enforcement and flew a little too low and did not see the guide wire. Of course you know what Im about to say, yep hit the wire, Inspire came down and broke. Camera in two pieces, gimble cracked, 1- leg cracked, two feet cracked, scratch on canopy. I am fixing to send in for repair and im a little worried. If repairs are extensive, anyone want to make an offer on the current condition?

Did the cops laugh?

I have good news for those who have crashed and are awaiting repair. My Inspire was received in Los Angeles 3/16/2015, signed into zendesk 03/23/2015. I received an email last night stating the below:

After payment, make sure you attach your receipt to this email to confirm your payment has been received by either taking a screen shot or saving the pdf file and reply back to this email with the attached item. I hit a fishing wire that was running between two trees. I feel your pain. Calling DJI tomorrow to begin the process.

Well it took a month but the cost was very reasonable.

I busted an arm ... they replaced all carbon fiber tubes for $200
seemed very reasonable .... I took a long time

Most of these prices seem reasonable, just wish they'd supply the parts I have a broken arm and would be happy to replace it for $68.00 for sure.

This prices look good...do they apply the same rates for repairs in Europe?

I'm still waiting on the DJI to responde my mail so i can send it there for an evaluation.
