Hi guys, I made this video on our recent trip to South Lake Tahoe, California this winter. The video is not all drone. It is a mix of go pro and Phantom 4 footage. All shots was taken at 30fps. I cheated using adobe premiere pro for the slow motion effect. If you just want the drone shot here is the time table: 0:22-0:50 1:35-1:41 2:21-2:28 2:37-3:08. Sorry, it is not all drone video.

I do wish Premiere had the frame blending abilities of AE built in. The frame doubling(or tripling) PPro uses for its basic slo-mo exposes itself on pans and extreme zooms.

But technicals aside, your story of love at Tahoe is on point. Keep mixing it up, and,

I'm not really a pro with adobe premiere pro but I also have Adobe after effects. You think If I used AE i would have attained a smoother slow motion effects despite having 30fps?

Watched it a second time.

Good editing, cuts in right places but not fully predictable. Catchy sound selection, seemed just right for the material. Interesting contrail moving right to left during snow mound construction time lapse.

You don't dwell in each vignette; you establish the location, sample the activity, then pull out, up and cut to the next scene. When you do linger, it's effective. Your editing technique is quite good.

AE utilizes frame blending or pixel check for smooth slomo with the TimeWarp effect.

But it also uses keyframes for time ramping in Time Remapping effect. Imagine a stretched out rubber band. Now take a pin and stick it in the middle, then pull it to the right. The band stretches to the left, and compresses to the right. Keyframes do this with time in AE. Times slows to the left, speeds up to the right. With AE, you can have as many pins as you want.

Can I ask you a question in your Exuma Bahamas video. at the 1:05 mark and again at the 3:20 mark you have a half under/over shot in the water. Looks like you may have used a dome for a go pro? If so can you share with me your make and model of the dome? I just started looking for one this week and they range in price. I am not looking for an expensive one. The models I am looking at range from 40-75 dollars. Any feed back on yours would be helpful.

Thank you! We got ours from dome.cam. It is a little bit more expensive but I can attest to it that it is good. The only disadvantage is the switching between video and photo. You need to remove the go pro for you to change settings. Good luck!

Well done. Your footage may never really get that smooth look you are hoping for at 30fps. At a minimum its best to shoot at 60fps. But still a wonderful job on the edit

Yeah but i think it wasn't that noticeable despite being 30 fps. Yi 4k+ was just recently release for a 4k 60fps. I just need to upgrade to a P4 pro.
