Hey guys just bought a phantom 3 standard to get started amd was worried that even for 1080p it still seems to jabe this odd flickering issue. Is this normal or should i try get it under warranty?

Can you post a sample?

The standard is on the edge of being able record at 1080p.  One thing that may help is to use as high a speed memory card as you can buy.

How come I can set mine to 2.7k then?

Surely that would be where the edge is?

No it is not, it is in the specs so it is fine.

im new to the forum and new to drone flying (one week), but i wasnt impressed by the 1080p footage but it was down the frame rate rather than image quality. when i dropped it to 720p and 50fps the images were so much better.

Depends what you want to see, but the native resolution of the sensor is 4K, so 720p will not be better. It is more likely that whatever you are viewing the footage on is more comfortable with 720p. Also, you should only the judging the material on the SD card, not what you see on your phone/tablet.

yeah i transfer everything from the sd card before editing but the frame rate on 1080p is only 24fps which is not great when making videos. i think the op said he had a phantom 3 standard so the sensor is 2k not 4k. my apologies if i read it wrong

The sensor is the same as the others, so it is capable of 4K, it is software limited to 2K in the firmware.

If that is the case, why can't we use the sw/fw for the Phantom 3 4K to upgrade our 3S?

You can norice just as the camera turns to start bringing the racecourse in center view ots lioe you get strange wabes of broghtness change going over the screen. Plus with foilage it seems to flicker alot

sorry about all my spelling errors new phone and not used to the keyboard haha. but if you watch the footage in the link around the 3 second mark is where its most noticeable. just did a test with the 2.7k supposedly at 25FPS. Runs horribly, i have seen many nice videos done with a phantom 3 standard but my camera never seem to be able to do what was advertised ill upload the vid now. https://www.skypixel.com/videos/ ... ;utm_campaign=share

After talking to dji helped they informed me the issue was the camera not changing up in video quality even after me changing it in the app. It has now been replaced by the store i bought it from and is charging awaiting a new test!

a video of this would really be helpful!
