Impressive looking quite pricy for 7" , also very thick might have a job getting it into holder.

Yes, but you can only use it if you have the HDMI output option fitted to your RC unit. It will not work in place of you phone or tablet, so you wont get the app overlay.

Yeah, right.  Enterprising attempt to capitalize on DJI's failure to bring their stuff to market.  Nice try.

In the specifications, it says that it accepts the operating system Mac OS 10.11 and Windows 10.
You do not think that it is possible to work with some applications?

Windows 10 is no use, there is no DJI app for it, and it needs to work like an iPad to work with iOS, so no, I don't think it will work, and apart from that, all the features it has cannot be used with you Phantom. The ability to record to an SD card on the monitor is pretty useless when the feed is a crappy 720p full of glitches.

Aloha Bullflyer,

Aside from Geebax's comments, your link does at least provide some perspective on the subject.  And it does make me wonder what is holding up DJI's CrystalSky monitors?

Aloha and Drone On!

I have the 4k 7" Video Assist and I like it a lot but if you are thinking about recording High quality video using it or any other recorder with the Phantom you are out of luck there. The video stream from the phantom is only 720p from the hdmi port. If you need it just for monitoring it is fine or just using any video monitor.

But it's possible to work with this Blackmagic and Dji Go 4, as we use an iPad ?

JoiCam,

What is the brightness spec for the 4K 7" Video Assist (in nits)?  How viewable is the screen in bright sunlight?

I do not have that spec on the monitors contrast or brightness, never found it???   The brightness is not the best for bright sunny day use but it is fine when using hoods on it. I wish the screen were brighter 1000 cd/m² and with anti glare like on the display on the P4P+.  Compared to other monitors I have who are 800 and 1000 cd/m² (Nits) I think the Assist could be around 400 +/-

Joicam - Thanks for the actual use feedback on brightness of the Blackmagic monitor. Based on the the thickness of the Blackmagic and your report of its marginal useability in bright sunlight without a hood, I guess I'll keep hoping and waiting for DJI to release their Crystalsky monitors. Apple just started selling their newest iPad (called, wait for it, the "iPad" - seriously !!??) and they did not increase the brightness of the new iPad significantly - disappointing.
