Hey guys,

going through my replacement P4P, and AGAIN, I'm having the same problem as before: Taking off smoothly, and after a few seconds, Rear LEDs are RED. There is no other warning or any clue of what's wrong.

Bird is a little shaky, but the conditions were kind of windy (9-10mph), so I assumed that this is normal.

It is not always on, it's flashing (stays on for couple of seconds,  goes off a for a moment and back on), but it's not the same kind of flashing as the 'low battery' alert.
Battery was warmed up, voltage looked ok, compass-IMU calibrations looked fine, GPS was crystal strong, flight was ok (given the wind), and I just ruined my photoshoot cause I was scared to let it go further and higher.

I tried to look around, couldn't find a clue online about what's going on. Also, I tried to see what the 'critical error' means (as the very slow flash could mean something like that), but no clue either.

Aloha betonven,

     In the manual on page 14 is the table for Aircraft Status Indicator Description.  It is reproduced here;

No, it's not any of these. It would be something between the "Low battery warning" and "critical error". It was flashing slower than Low Battery, but still flashing (so probably no critical error). Also, it was intermittent (was becoming the regular green flashing for a few seconds, then again red flashing, and again green flashing, quite randomly.

Forgot to mention that I tested two different batteries, both fully charged. So I guess battery error is not an option.

I have an interesting update. I realized today after testing two things:

1. The sequence is not random at all: It is 2 long red flashes, followed by 6 green flashes.
2. This happened only when I am in Class-D Airspace, after I get the respective warning (of course I'm there after having notified the tower of the nearby airport).

So... should I assume this is DJI's way of reminding you that you should be flying with caution?

I also captured the sequence with my camera:

I found this:

Ph4 flight limits and nofly

but it only cites fast red blinking... (bottom of the page)

Thanks for checking that!! It looks similar, although the timings don't match. But I think it makes sense for it to be related. I'll try to check with DJI support.

A guy in online chat support tries to convince me that it means lost link with remote, although:

1. The remote was working flawlessly, and so was DJIGo, for the entire duration of four flights, with the LED sequence happening continuously
2. The manual indicates remote link lost to be yellow flashing.
3. This happens only in Class-D space. (I even tried moving from one place to another within 10 minutes, with the same battery, just to confirm that)

After explaining these, now the guy is talking about interference. In the woods, half a mile away of a single man-made structure.

I would call.. It's a gamble to see if you get someone that knows what they are talking about there I have noticed lol.

After 1 hour of chat (basically waiting 15 minutes for each reply), I was redirected to send an email to flysafe. I really wish they trained their specialists a little more. Or at least, they could put stuff like that in the manual, so I wouldn't need to call in the first place.
