So what sort of speeds are you guys getting?

I've been up to 24m/s (54mph | 87km/h), but this weekend I want to see if I can get it up to 30m/s (105km/h)

Anybody seen those speeds yet?
I'm thinking downwind ATTI
Also, with the Hight restrictions more or less nul en void, I was thinking of trying a 1000m flight.
Here is the crazy bit,,, the decent is so slow I've been practicing shutoff on the simulator at peak height, and restart at 100m, flare and save all the battery power it would have taken to decend for 10 minutes.....

Don't know if its the right thing to do, to shut the motors off and let it drop from the sky at terminal velocity, then restarting the engines, I think the g-load will be stressful to the airframe and props.
Nevertheless you can do it and tell us how it went

mmmm, perhaps you make a good point, Luke
Never thought about the inertia, I sort of just assumed the inspire can take it
I doubt if the Engineers at DJI would venture an opinion on this one...

Hell, I think DJI should take one of their Beta Drones and go test and film such an event.
Should be epic

Another idea would be to try flying the Phantom in manual mode and drop very fast to see if it can recover.  I've flipped my Phantom and the amount of altitude lost is incredible.

Are you dropping the throttle while in the roll?  If not, try it.  Keeps it from descending as fast.

I have to agree, don't think I would try that one. I also get nervous when I can't see my Quad.

I tried to see what I could do tonight with the high winds and gusts we are having with this storm coming in and at an undisclosed altitude I hit a max of 58.3mph... I tried to get my wife to get a screen shot bit she couldn't grasp how to press the power and volume down button at the same time and kept turning off the app
