I flew happily over 150 times. I saw today the update and proceeded as directed.

Download the firmware, put it on the SD card and installed it on the camera.

I turned on the remote control, DJI pilot activated then turned on the drone.

The update message appeared and I accept in the app, but was in zero percent long time, the remote connection was lost and stayed more than one hour drone updating. After this time I turned it off and went back on and never reconnected with the RC again.

Who Knows what can I do? Thanks

Make sure you follow the update procedure in the pdf that came with the update, not from the I1 manual or any other.

I think DJI need to post here a screen shot or list showing the updated versions so we can compare too them

same to me..
I fix , upgrading the radio firmware...probably the inspire 1 was upgraded and your radio need receive the fresh firmware..(like incompatibility)

Jorge, follow these directions:

Attach the camera/gimbal to the aircraft with the micro SD card inserted and the firmware loaded in the card. Leave the remote control turned off. Turn on the aircraft and it will go through its normal startup, then will start doing the 4-beep sound, beep beep beep beep, repeatedly for a few minutes. Mine took less than 10 minutes, but just let it go. You will know the update is complete when it switches to a 3-beep sound, beep beep beep, repeatedly. You can now turn off the aircraft. To make sure the aircraft upgraded correctly, put the SD card in a computer and read the .txt file. It should say "success."

Now, put a USB memory stick with the firmware installed on it into the USB port of remote controller. Turn on the remote controller. It will take about 60 seconds before anything happens, so wait it out, and then the LED light will turn blue and it will begin to beep repeatedly. Let it continue until the blue LED turns green. Once the LED is green, your upgrade is complete.

Some people have found that they need to try different USB sticks because the remote controller couldn't read some of them. I've not had that problem, but it is something you can try if after 60 seconds the remote controller doesn't begin to update.

Hi,

follwing happend during the update process:

- after initiating update process with D,D,D,D sound, RC turned off after aprox. 10 min.
- no conformation beep after 35 min -I turned AC off
- text file shows "failed"
- deleted text files
- upgrading two RC with SD card and adapter "sucessfull"
- checking FW on app, everthing ok, except  Air encoder Firmware: unknown, Loader: unknow
- says "save to fly - non GPS" (I am inside), but I won`t anyway with above FW status
- would like to run the FW upgrade again, but it won`t enter procedure
- don´t know how to mangage FW restart for the second time (AC says FW latest)
- contacted DJI 24 hour support via email 12 hours ago - no response. Phone lines closed, because of weekend (Friday - perfect day for a upgrade!)

Any suggestions welcome (maybe also from DJI?)  Thanks!

PS My first FW upgrade from version 015 to 016 happend without any problems!

I also upgraded to new firmware and it didnt take as long as 30minutes, just as you reported.

Which of the settings/versions in the About List has changed as a consequnece of this update.  Just cant see the 1.2.0.17 anywhere

my 2 remotes looked dead , and it is DJI on the chat (they gave me another bin file) who solved the problem ans now everything is OK

My aircraft status says my aircraft firmware is up to date without updating the new 1.2.0.17 firmware so I called into DLI help line and they said my Android system will update it automatically. So, while on the phone to him, I said "lets check all the versions in my 'about' section". They hadn't changed... and the DJI Helpline guy said "don't worry about it...it will come through eventually".

This sounds like pretty casual advice to me. What are your thoughts?

Here is my aircraft status before Firmware 1.2.0.17 update. It doesn't request an update????
Also see what my versions page says -

Put you SD card back into the computer and check for a .txt file that should have appeared. This will tell you whether the update was successful. I had EXACTLY the same experience as you.... It turned out that the update was fine. There is NO indication until you check the txt file whether the update has happened or not.

I will bet you that the update has occurred....

     sorry for keeping you waiting so long . don't worry about the lost of info of Air encode as long as the overall status showing "normal". about the procedure we have told "Do not reply update progress bar from the DJI pilot app as the remote controller may disconnect from the aircraft during the update." in our release note. so it can be judged by the sounds.

What the heck is going on??

Some peoples have the latest firmware already and just need to update the RC.

I updated the quad ok and then went to do that TX and it failed.  I have tried formatting the card again and putting it back in the TX and nothing happens?  How can I try and update the controller again?

Edit: it say this now, does that mean it took even though it said failed??

After inserting the SD card again, the air encoder somehow showed the right firmware and on the log file of the SD card. Also it showed a text file "cancel" instead of "failed". Test flying the I1today worked out fine.

You won't see 1.2.0.17 displayed anywhere. It is the version # for the total firmware package, and for some reason it is not shown anywhere after the update. DJI would be wise to do a simple check that all individual components updated correctly and then display a message like: "Aircraft and RC are running latest firmware: 1.2.0.17". A simple message like that would reduce an endless amount of confusion among Inspire owners.

Please update de Remote Control with Aircrart turned off, after turn off RC, then turn on RC and after turn on the inspire 1. This may solve the situation.

I'm sorry, both transmitters were updated normally.  The display shows "No signal".

      ........These were my emotions as I read down the list.
