I have seen conflicting reports of drone laws in India.  I am going in a couple weeks and wonder if people on the forum have a link or know definitively what the rules and/or laws are in India.  Thanks.

UAVSYSTEMS International also has better info. I just added their link above.....

More current info is here:

Customs Declarations...

Current letter to DGCA disapproval

Looks like they've drafted rules that will eventually override the 7th October, 2014 DGCA prohibition, but there's currently no estimate for when the rules will be adopted....
The recent customs declaration is the scary article!!!

Thank you.  All roads lead to "no".  It's too bad as the country has amazing locations for aerial photography.

Hello,

Does someone has updates regarding the use of drones in India? Click here for document

"Barring nano drones—those that weigh under 250 grams and can’t fly at higher than 50 feet—all others must be registered with the DGCA and acquire a Unique Identification Number. Drones that weigh over 2kgs will require an air defence clearance. And the remote pilot for any drone must be at least 18 years old and have gone through a prescribed training process."
