In the first two passages, we have focused on slow-motion and city timelapse. This time we’re going to talk about how to take hyperlapse photography with Osmo Mobile.

You may wonder what the difference between hypelapse photography and time-lapse photography is. Let’s look at some pictures.

Time-lapse photography

Hypelapse photography

You will find that time-lapse photography is captured by moving the lens so as to show a prosperous city scene, while hyperlapse photography is captured by focusing an object and moving the camera between each still frames. Hyperlapse photography has been applied in landscape photography and architectural photography.

* The photos above are captured with Osmo Mobile.

With only a mobile phone and Osmo Mobile, you can easily make this magnificent scene.

Procedures

A.  First, select an object you want to shoot, such as the building below.

B. Tap the circle icon on the lower left corner to mark the object on the screen and track it as it moves.

* Tip: In Active Track mode, the Osmo Mobile can automatically move the gimbal to track the object. Be sure to make the object at the center of the screen and not move too fast.

C.  After marking the object to be followed, select a planned route, and tap the Record button to start recording.

D. When you are walking around while shooting a video, vertical movement needs to be controlled. You should walk at a steady speed. Here, it takes about five minutes to walk about 100 meters.

Post-production

A. Adobe After Effects (hereinafter “AE”) will be used to create special effects.

* Some guys might be little confused about what software should be used for post-production. In this post, we will explore the technical possibilities of AE.

B. Import the video you shot to the AE. You can accelerate the speed to achieve a time-lapse effect. After speeding up, the five-minute video is changed to a five-second video. The speed or length of a video depends on the effect you want to reach.

Procedure: Move the cursor to the exported video, right click and select “Time Stretching” to adjust the speed as required.

C. After speeding up, a video is generated. Due to a movement issue, the image might shake.

Then stability enhancement should be used. Move the cursor to the imported video, right click and select “Warp Stabilizer” to adjust the stability as required.

D. After processing is complete, export the video and you can share it to social medial platforms.

Your friend will never imagine the picture is captured by a mobile phone and an Osmo Mobile.

I already have a gimbal but this stuff should convince me to buy the osmo. When I do Hyperlapse with my APN's it's so long here it seems so easy and awesome.
