So I flew my drone today and got a broken cell warning checked the app and all cells look fine. I'm going to do a run down and recharge and see if the warning is still there. I've read a few other people have had the same problem in the last few weeks. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not sure if the battery came with my Mavic or or if it's the one I purchased later. I'll check when I'm home from working in Scotland.

Those don't look fine to me.  They should all be similar in voltage and they are far from that.

Last thought - I would not fly with that battery.  You are likely to lose your drone or have it land unattended wherever it is at.

One of the cells capacity doesn't match the other two. You can see at 4v they aren't balanced.

Thanks for the info guys. I expected to see a cell half down or something. I've managed to get my battery down to 15% and the cell voltage is now almost even. Only 0.05 difference between them and my warning has gone. Will a full charge sort this problem out now or do I just cut my losses and send the battery in for replacement and get ready for the long wait for a new one.

Before flying with that battery again I'd open a ticket with DJI and let them decide what to do; my guess is that they'll offer to swap it for a new one. If you fly with it and crash, they may blame you for flying with a battery that you had reason to know might be bad. Plus there's the possibility that a crash could result in something even more serious than just a damaged or destroyed Mavic.

Your battery is under warranty, just send it back for replacement, it doesn't sound or look right, not worth the risk.

Battery capacity is too low also. You have 3108mAh and check on the battery it's 3830mAh. Return this battery, its bad one. Don't try to cycle charge it. It's better and you have peace of mind when you got a new on back from DJI and are flying with it!

I would not fly with that Battery. There is too great a difference between cells and as the charge gets down that low cell will drop below safe cell level and fail and cause your drone to fail in flight. All cells should be within 0.03v off each other for a heathy battery and no more than 0.05v and your capacity should be around 3800 after a full charge not 3100. The battery cells are not being balanced when charged and an out of ballenced battery is very dangerious to use as you risk loosing instance cell dropout without warning leading to total power loss.

If you are going to have any possibility of fixing it, you need to discharge it completely.  12% is not enough.

And wait for it to cool off before charging it.  Never charge a hot battery.

So I ran the battery totally flat and recharged it and am still showing suspect voltages on in my app. Here's a screen shot of the battery screen. How do I go about raising a ticket and sending it back?

Reply to Mindy's earlier post to get her attention and see what she says, but it looks to me like you need to get a replacement.

4.28v on cell 3 Get rid of that battery. It's overcharged and won't last long. 4.2v tops with a trickle charge on lipo.

Hi mindy,
Could you check the screen shot of my recharged battery and let me know what you think. Also I may need some help with getting it sent back as I believe it's hard to send lipo batteries in the post I'm the UK. I've emailed the European service email address I found on the forum but no reply yet. I understand that you guys are busy but I'm needing my new battery by the end of next week.
Best regards,
Russell Walden

Received an email from Dji Europe and they suggested I discharge and recharge it twice then check voltages. I'll get back to you tonight
