Ok here is a VLAN framegrab with SRT file from card loaded. The srt was generated automatically along with video
as you can see SRT file gives you under Vlan player

** Current GPS co-ordinates of the bird
** Home co-ordinates
** and also i think elevation
** Camera and iso info
** Time and date

i think this feature is new i never noticed it before

I have no SRT files created. I did a couple of test flights after upgrading with the latest firmware 1.2.0.17 and the latest Android application 1.0.7, but still there are no SRT files generated when recording 4K 24P videos. Is there a setting in the DJI Pilot that needs to change in order to have these files generated? Would be possible in the future to configure which telemetry data to be saved in these files?
I hope someone from DJI will reply soon with answers.

i used ios ipad2 air this morning with the new app .. i DID NOT pick video caption.. did a test flight around ground 10 feet in the air and srt file was automatically generated  

The SRL will generated only when pick the video caption. @arunmehta it seems a bug in app. I reported it already.

If anyone would like to use DashWare or a similar software, I have managed to convert SRT files to CSV format using this free utility:

Until DJI will provide the format for the Flight Recorder log files, the only files that we can work with for the time being will be these SRT files.

bornish:  I couldn't figure out how to run the 'BatchSubtitlesConverter.rar' file.  Is there an executable file download somewhere I'm missing?

I also found this website that is supposed to convert srt to csv, however, it only converts the first line of the subtitle (Home GPS position) which is not very useful for dashware.

What does the "Hs" value stand for?  Looks like "Hb" is height in meters?

HS means Horizontal Speed.

No, It seems that Hb - is Height barometric and Hs - Height sensor

Phantom Overlay is an app that easily allow you to overlay GPS data on top of you video (examples)
  
  It generates GPX files that you can use with Garmin Virb Edit to add nicely designed overlays.
  Or generate FCPXML files for simple import into final cut pro, to display GPS info as text on your video.
  And you may check the KML files in Google Earth.

Have you made much progress on getting better/usefull flight metadata?  I just got a copy of the newest ESRI Full Motion Video add-on and am trying to use My DJI Inspire 1 video in it.  I can get the video to load, but am struggling to convert the .SRT into a usefull CSV.  What I see in the SRT is lacking compared to what appears to be captured (via watching the DJI-GoApp flight playback info)

I'm thinking the HOME data is Distance from HOME not coordinates for HOME.  Why would they write to file the "same" coordinate over and over (as HOME isn't changing) however distance to HOME is....

The coordinates are switched in the log file.
So if you try for Example "HOME(15.2271,50.5359) "
just turn it around like this: 50.5359 15.2271
=> this should be your correct position!

What format do you need? JSON? I'm working on a tool. Should be usable in a couple of days

while on this subject, how is transmission video saved
on the iPad? Is this caption imbedded in the SD card only?
