Guess they didnt even verify before sending to you.

They had difficulty calibrating the compass in the shop. They put it down to interference by the surrounding buildings. The joy of Cape Town city centre
So they said I must take the drone home and see if it behaves the same or any different.

You would think they would have a process for this(as a repair shop) and have a location they can go where interference would not be an issue.  Just saying

Okay so after reading this I have tested mine and I can see the same issue. Compass error as soon as the gimbal hits the 45-degree angle.
Has anyone figured out a solution yet or what have you guys done?

I wonder what would happen if you try to calibrate the compass while the gimbal is at that angle? Currently unable to do so as I am nowhere near an open space.

This is worrying. I will check mine as soon as I get the chance.

Now I was ended the problem. Steps:
1) Demagnetize gimbal and the motors of them with a little cheap screwdriver demagnetizer.
2) Downgrade to the oldest  firmware.
3) Reset to defaults with DJI Assistant.
4) Upgrade to the latest firmware.
5) Again reset to defaults with DJI Assistant.
6) Let cool down the drone and calibrate IMU.
7) Calibrate compass.
8) Calibrate gimbal.

That's all. Problem solved. In any position of the camera, the compass 2 don't change.

After this procedure, in my Mavic with any position of the gimbal (45° - 90° - Straight - Portrait - any position) the maximun read interference was 28 and fluctuates between 8 and 28 (and we make the fix in indoors), the same as compass 1. Totally normal again, it's awesome!

Before the fix, at 45° reads 400 and goes in red, and on 90° down reads 999 interference.
