First go at drone video footage, an evening at Elie in the East neuk, Scotland.  Some timelapse footage on a Nikon D810 but most of the footage is on a Phantom 4.

Off to a good start with the video. What settings did you use ? Reason I ask is that I found the video wasn't flowing as smoothly as I would have expected, the time lapse sections worked very well though (ground based camera ?).

I was on fixed f2.8 1/60 shutter. Some footage was intentional -2.0ev to give that darker feel. The ground footage is a d810 with 16-25 f4. So it's naturally going to be better than the phantom 4. When you say flowing do you mean shutter stuttering?

It could be that I'm seeing, I'm not sure that the 30 to 24 fps conversion as helped, do you have a 30 fps rendered version you could post as a comparison ?

It's likely the wind, u can see how quickly the clouds are moving in the time lapse footage. Winds were -15-20mph

Think you were right - reposted at 30fps rather than 24fps, definitely smoother -

That's definitely worked better. I think the difficulty is in getting the software to do an accurate conversion, any attempts I have made to do similar have not usually come out very well. For 24 fps (OK 23.97) it's best to record in that format.
I usually record in 4k @ 30fps and convert back to 1080P @ 30 fps if needed.

Yeah i'd thought the 6 extra frames would have smoothed it out but its almost like its dropping the 6 frames instead which is making it judder. I am using FCPX. My current iMac is long in the tooth but was high spec at the time. Waiting on this years iMac release before shooting in 4k. My mac cries when i try to do it just now !
