Is DJI coming out with a new 6000mah battery or is this a clone?   It looks pretty legit.

It is definitely not an authorized battery from DJI!

This is what you're getting.
Good reviews and has the same smart features as the original but as DJi-DingC said, they are NOT manufactured by DJI.

I have the ONBO 6000 mah battery and it is excellent thus far.  I have used the battery about 10 times and so far it provides more flight time than the stock 5200 mah by about 10 min.  Takes a bit longer to charge too obviously but definitely worth snagging these up when you can get your hands on them because they are scarce!

I would imagine just like any other manufacture, the warranty from DJI would be void if there were a malfunction with your phantom because these batteries aren't authorized or manufactured by DJI.

How's the fit in comparison to the originals? Would think an extra 800 mAh would make a larger battery.
Also what's your average flight times?

Fit and reliability issues aside, we already know DJI will aggressively work to break the use of 3rd party batteries.

The reality is, if you want to fly a Phantom, you have to accept that batteries costs 2 to 3 times more than what other multi rotors use, and that there is only one choice in brand.  Its a closed ecosystem by design.

I once bought an after market netbook battery, it was a 6000 mAH vs the 2500 mAH for the same price, I had it running for a few months, then just like in the video it went from 100% to nothing.  It never worked again after that.

The original is still working and thats some 5 years later.  I know that in the grand scheme of things Phantom is not an expensive UAV - but when upgrading form remote (read toy) helicopters like me - they cost a fortune.  I'll stick with OEM batteries.

which is correct from DJI because the shown battery is a copy, a fake. I hate product clones. They could have used a different design but not the exactly same

Well that's true.  Copying is low on the honorable list.  However, to some degree, copying is necessitated due to anything detected not DJI will be disabled.

That said, I'm not about to play around with aftermarket batteries. Over both reliability concerns, and as it is, I've had enough trouble with "supported" batteries ---  DJI batteries.  lol

A little less costly, and a little less closed, would be a nice middle ground.

Did anybody else happen to notice the distance at the beginning of that video?  1891.6 METERS!!!  And it looks like he was trying to fly back home at that point -- good grief, how far did he go before figuring out it might be smart to turn around?  There is no way I would try to break any long distance records like that, regardless of where the battery came from, but hey, that's just me.

But give me somebody else's Phantom, Ye-HAAA,  I'll fly it like it's a rented mule!

It is ONBO battery - and it is not a fake, not  a clone just third party battery from solid battery company.
I have sold a lot of them and not a single problem. But a lot of a problems with original DJI batteries.

And pls do not compare it to notebook battery because it is totally different stuff.

For S900 there is no DJI battery, why ? Because DJI is not a battery manufacturer, and for Phantom they simply order it from other company that knows how to do it.

One is for sure, if anybody knows how to build LiPo batteries -are  Chineese .

UMPA,  When you bought your 6000 MAH battery from Banggood, when you put it in the Phantom, did the battery page of your PT2 program show full as a 6000 Mah battery or a 5200 Mah battery?

I have not bought a 6000MAh, I bought a 5400MAh LCD battery from a different manufacture.  The 6000MAh battery you are referring too was for a LAPTOP and nothing to do with the drone.

The LCD batteries have their own display and I have NEVER plugged them in the the DJI Assistant software.  So far they are holding up good.
I know I said I would not trust an aftermarket battery - but obviously I have had a change of heart.

My mistake,  I thought the battery in the video you made was a 6000.  Well, I guess I'll just have to test mine tethered down the first run to see what times I get compared to the 5200 battery.  I plugged the 6000 into the software asst. and it says 5200.  Time will tell I guess.  Thanks for the info.
Happy Flying!

If they ever make them for the P3 I might buy some.  My preorder doesn't include the spare, and if I change it now it will be delayed.

DJI isn't even taking preorders for batteries by themselves.

They won't work with the P3, these are P2 only batteries.
