I would like to practice (recreational flying) in a place no too far from Montreal somewhere with low grass, nice landscape, far from pedestrians and cities with restrictive bylaws. Do you know any non Canadian that has flown legally in Canada ?  Your best best is to look for a MAAC club in Montreal area and see if they have open fly nights for non-members.  They are exempt from the new laws.  http://www.maac.ca/en/

Checkout chemin du Nordet, its a road though, so it might not be 100% legal. I also fly in school yards on the weekend, they are nice open spaces. Again, not 100% legal.
