I use litchi, but I don't even bother to keep her steady. It's in my hand the whole time during powerup (moving). The imu seems fine with this startup.

Even hand launching from a area with mag interference is fine noticed, hold it over your head and let her up. Problem for me at least, was the non drop to atti when the compass got screwed, or as you say drone batty. That was something mine did after long flights in sport. I solved that with shielding to the rear wiring. Something dji should really have put into the design with the wiring running that close to gps. I could go a whole battery now in sport and not worry about it, and notice I'm at 20 sats sometimes too with the sun up.
