Simple question: is there a way to control Phantom 4 Pro+ with external phone or tablet instead of build-in one?

If your P4 Pro Plus RC is build in Display then the answer is No! You can buy the RC without build in display then only can use external devices.

No the input is set to hardwired tablet, connecting a different tablet via the usb wont help you

Will that be the same for the P4Adv?

No, you cannot control the aircraft (adjusting settings etc.) from an external monitor. When using the P4P+ RC, you can only hook up an external HDMI monitor for dual video out.

If you purchased P4 ADV with normal RC then you can hook up Android or IOS devices to your RC, But if you choose the RC+Monitor then the answer is the same that is no way you can hook up external devices.

Maybe I am reading it incorrectly but it seems that the P4Adv is supplied with the monitor included rather than it being an extra.

P4ADV have 2 option, one is normal RC and one is RC with build in monitor.

I can see that now.
It would be nice to have that screen but at AU$500 extra it's a lot when you cannot use other software.

I have Phantom 4 Pro Plus witch was version with build-in display. I thought it will be great but later I realized that I can not use other software to control my drone.

So, just to be sure - if I would like to fly my Phantom 4 Pro Plus with external phone/tablet then I have to buy new radio (without display) and link it to my drone, right?

There is no options for instaling Aero Ranger on RC with build-in display??!??

That is the main drawback for the "plus" versions is that the built in display will not accept additional software installed on it.  That is my understanding and the reason I went with the plain P4P and bought an iPad mini 4.  The display is not as bright but I can run Litchi.  

You can install Litchi software on the Pro + controller if you purchase it from Amazon.

I guess you can install it from apkpure.com. If it does not depend on Google services it might also be usable.
