Try putting a manual or newspaper under the bird (something with writing), she cant read it but can see it. Worked for me.

I always stand mine on the case... It enters travel mode every time. Had problems on my carpet though

Make sure you're on a reflective, smooth surface. Didn't work for me when on carpet.

Still not able to enter travel mode, It goes from "Gimbal attachment mode" to "Flight mode" of course when it goes into flight mode it tips over when camera is attached and when not attached then it can balance itself  on it's base, I've tried all sorts of surfaces from cardboard to tile and sidewalk I've also tried numerous switch flip counts from 1 -20 I've tried tried in P,F,A modes I've sent 3 email to usdjisupport no answer I may have to call in and go from there.

The I1 uses the Opti sensors to go into travel mode. So standing on a somewhat reflective surface, it won't go into travel mode.

The same goes for the carpet. If it's stuck, it will not go into travel mode.
