In the future will we be able to temporarily override the automatic initiation of the landing gear below one meter?

There are many times when I want to get low shots and the landing gear messes them up.

Don't get me wrong, I like the feature and rely on it a lot as it's one less thing to worry about when landing, would just like a manual override or ability to set a smaller height, like 1 1/2 feet or so.

This would be a wonderful manual override option!!!  I too have experienced similar challanges related to this safety feature.

You could try covering the sonar ports with tape?

that would bring the gear down as it would think you are on the ground

I have seen this brought up before and remember a DJI rep saying they might do something about it in firmware, which would be great!

Jim in the android app there is a setting in the MC Settings menu which gives you a "Self Adaptive Landing gear" option which you can turn on and off.  I haven't tested it yet and not sure if its just been included for future use.

Workaround is to tape ONE of the sonar ports with insulating tape or similar. Taping both will get a 0m height reading, taping one tricks it into thinking it's not receiving the sound waves, therefore it believes it's above 2.5m.

Haven't explored it yet.  My hope is there is a setting in the next firmware.

This is addressed in the next version of the firmware.  Become a beta tester if you want to try it before it goes public.

The landing gear automatically comes down if the Inspire knows your less than about three feet from the ground.  Messes up the shot.

How is it that yours doesn't come down?  Could be a fault if it doesn't.

Perhaps the sensors on the bottom of the camera aren't working properly.  Might want to get that checked out.

Captain, you gear should lower at .8m.  If they are not then there is something wrong.  Does the VPS show in the lower left hand corner?

Prop-lock girl.  While there are some issues with the App not retraining some settings.  The adaptive landing gear is not one of them.  My secret for having all the settings to be saved is to not turn off the tx and app between flights.
