Hey guys,
What software do you all suggest for editing mavic videos/photos?
I have both Mac and PC so platform doesn't neccisarily matter.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.

For videos I use PowerDirector and for photos I use PhotoDirector. I got them together in a reasonably-priced bundle and they work well for me.

Currently I try to get warm with Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. But the v14 (public beta) doesn't support sound yet :-( Everything else seems cool, easy to use and intuitive.

I think that depends on your editing skills and purpose. I'm a novice when it comes to editing. The primary purpose is for fun - sharing with friends/family. That said, I opted for Filmora (Wondershare). You may not get all the professional editing capabilities as you would in other applications, but still has the some power tools built in. For the price point, I find it's a very easy application to work with and serves my needs. FYI, I'm on a Mac platform.

Run Adobe premiere pro CC here. But what noticed is the newer 2017 adobe media encoder doesn't do a good job for youtube. Same settings as the older 2015 encoder, the files are smaller but you can see a difference between the two. So for encoding still run the older one. Have after effects too but need to reinstall all the plugins and learn what I forgot from not using it. Remember could put fog on the ground, but went to find that plugin and tutorial and it's missing!

Oh yeah twixtor is good too. It's better than optical flow time interpolation in adobe.

- YouTube vid on how to make your first vid in Kdenlive.

Note that it is a little slow sometimes on the preview when you add too many effects.

Yea me too! I like them both. Cheaper than Adobe but just as useful.
For splicing HDR shots together I prefer easyHDR.

I also use PowerDirector / PhotoDirector / ColorDirector, etc.  I've always really liked that suite, and seems to be less-taxing on older pcs.

They are also the best, but at a monthly subscription cost.  {:4_142:}

I use DaVinci Resolve because it's free, easy to color grade and has a super wicked tracking system, which allows me to do something like this with just a few clicks.

I am using HitFilm4.

Supper easy to use for a novice, and has some handy tricks like locking onto a specific point and centering it. Helped me sort out a very bad gimbal movement on a shot I had. Its entirely free also, with load of youtube tutorials. As you evolve you can then start purchasing addons for more professional work.
