Yes, the iPad is definitely compatible with the Mavic. I and many others use the iPad Mini 4, which fits nicely into the Mavic's remote controller. You can also use other larger models of iPad but for those you'd need to buy a mount that allows the iPad and remote to be used together easily.

Here's the text from the Mavic's "Recommended devices":

ios: iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPod touch 6, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad Air Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 4, and iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi + Cellular. This app is optimized for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Hi, I fly my P4 & a Mavic with an iPad 9.7 pro. I use a bracket & lanyard.
I'm waiting for the crystalsky to come up. They look great from what I've seen.

Welcome and good luck with the bird.

I used the iPad mini 2 with the Skyreat aluminum mount and gave no problems. Makes flying that much easier and safer as you can see everything better. The mount is 29.99 on Amazon but worth every penny. You can also buy a 1ft Anker lightning cable to use and it fits perfectly.

Use iPad Mini 2, I did buy a holder for it but realised, it can be used with the Mavic controller with the arms fully extended.

The problem with using an ipad in the rc holder is that you can't really use a sunshade; for that reason, using some mount will free up the ipad and allow a sunshade. If you don't need a sunshade, cool, no problem.

I have a S7, it works ... sometimes. It got annoying to the point where I bought an iPad mini 4 to avoid the disconnection problems. I don't think I'll go back to my s7 after my iPad at this point. Just my 2 cents ...

Agree. Mini 2 works well but in sunshine bright conditions it struggles. Might rig up my Air 2 as that has less reflectance and glare.

Hi and sorry to bother you but I'm wondering if there might be a fix for iPad mini IOS 9.3.5. I bought it before I bought my Mavic pro and thought that DJI GO 4 will work. Any suggestions? MY android phones are not very good with the video and my iPhone 5s is too small for outdoor use.

So you have an original / model 1 iPad Mini? No, sorry, I don't know of to use that with Go 4. I believe the problem is probably that the processor in it is under-powered, in which case there wouldn't be anything you could do to get it to work. What I've seen suggested by a few people as an inexpensive way of using an iPad with the Mavic is to find someone selling a used iPad 2.

I am attempting to use my iPad Pro 9.7 for my mavik pro, but when I plug it into the controller nothing happens. Does the USB port on the bottom need to be turned on?  Of so how do you turn it on? The port on the side works but the cable isn't long enough.. any help?

I use the iPad mini 2. No problems at all. iPad mini 4 will give you better display, less glare and most likely a tad bit less delay. To be honest the iPad mini 2 delay is most of the time, non existent and it's only $200 brand new.

Do you have much trouble accessing your joysticks around that?

I'm not aware of any major advantage the Mini 4 has over the older models, but that may be because I haven't owned any those earlier ones. The Mini 4's screen is supposed to be brighter, but frankly I don't find even it adequate in sunlight anyway so a slightly dimmer screen wouldn't really hurt anything. The Mini 4 presumably also has a more powerful processor, but I think the 2 and 3 must have sufficient power or DJI wouldn't list them as supported devices. So my guess is that there's probably not a noticeable difference between the 4 and the earlier models, at least not when used to fly a Mavic.

I have read posts about Ipad 2-air-4 and my choice was made first of all for the price (cause they sell it with16gb for 419euro  and mine was an offer) and last but not least in Greece we have a lot of sunny days and it almost has no glare .

Is it an iPad Mini 3 or a third-generation iPad? The Mini 3 is listed as a supported device, so I'm not sure why the app would say otherwise.
