I am an absolute newbie.  I recently purchased a used Phantom 2 Vision + so I can learn to fly without trashing a more advanced/expensive bird.
For some  paperwork I am filling out, I need to know my bird's serial number.
Do t hey have serial numbers, and if so ... where/how do I find it?

The easiest place to find the serial number is on the box that it came in.

The other place you will find the serial number is on a sticker on the bottom of the aircraft

Hi , just crashed my phantom3 pro and when I tried to re power up it wouldn't let me start the motors..
It said EsC error - does any one know what to do to assess the damage?
Nothing appears broken physically..

You could take off the top shell and see if anything is broken or any wires disconnected inside.

Nink, I'm a new pilot too, but before I jump in so expensive adventure, I purchase a X5C drone which it cost me $38.40, I learned a lot, I used on an open field (like a Cemetery) and each time I flew on my yard, it hanged in one of my trees or the neighbors' trees. One day, the wind blows it up and the little one disappeared. On December 14 a bought a Phantom 3 Standard and at the beginning I was scare to fly, because I don't want to crashed nor loss it either. I spent 3 days,( night and days) watching videos learning how to fly it, until finally, I passed the beginner mode. Never fly inside of the house, because the Standard model does not has the floor position like the Professional does. My advice to you is to watch as many videos you can and practice without the blades, therefore you will never crashed, practice is what will make you an expert.

Recently send my credit card information to Dji for reapers to be done on my phantom. Received calls from credit card company, somebody using it in califormia. Been paying using paypal. Be careful with dji. I have two dji phantoms3 pro, but I don't think i will have businesses with them again.

No I have actually not seen that warning before I'm not exactly sure what it is.
If you cannot find any loose disconnected wires or any obvious signs of damage you will need to send it in.

Welcome aboard! As to your question we strongly discourage the use of any oil or lubricant on the motors. It is not necessary and it will just cause problems by attracting dust and dirt.

Thanks DJI Dave.  I bought it used, so no box and no sticker, but I believe the sticker inside the battery compartment is/was the number I needed.

Hi..
I just got inspire one and get started by my self. After all part ready, i turn on the RC, aircraft, DJIGO app, and then i rise the aircraft for setting the camera. After that i got notif for update the firmware, so updating was finish but upgrade was fail.  After updating, my RC can't connect with aircraft again.  Does anybody has solution with this?
Thank's before.

N.B:
Aircraft and battery firmware updated with 1.6 version
in "About" information, RC updated with 1.5.70 version
LED aircraft is yellow when turned on
LED RC is light green when turned on
I use Asus Zenfone5 for screen (just for test)

Make sure the RC is not on during the update. Try uninstalling the App and try again.

maybe some one can help me. how do I know my FC M-Lite is defective? I returned it to the seller and he sent it back to me and I'm still having the same issue.
When I go in to the field and fly my quad. the system captures enough GPS it gives me all green lights, but as soon as I take off, in less than a minute it starts to blink Red and loose the GPS.  I Flight my phantom 2 and 3 in the same field and get LOTS of GPS not sure why my M-lite keep failing. I tried lots of things and nothing work.
