I am playing around with the idea of mounting some sort of lighting to my inspire for night flight/photography. Saw this guys drone on YouTube:
i was thinking it would be cool to get something lightweight to mount to the camera on the Inspire. I was thinking about a ring of LEDs, perhaps the could be attached to a lens filter ring so it could be screwed on or off. Some technical issues would be;
The weight, it would certainly effect the camera Gimbal. Would it break/burn out the motors
Power, it would be ideally powered of the craft, what would be the negative effect... Loss of flight time... Etc
Interference from the electric noise of the light and its hardware.
I like the idea of having light source mounted to the Gimbal so that light is always pointed in the same direction as the camera... Images of the terminator movie always come to mind when I think of this... Another alternative is an actual replacement camera from DJI that snaps in place of the original equipment. They built in that hot swappable system I hope for more then putting the Inspire into the case...
I guess you only have to strap a modern flashlight onto the aircraft if you want a spotlight. Slap on a Surefire that thows out 500+lumens, I guess that would have a similar affect with self contained battery, just switch on before flight with run time of 1+ hour should give a good result and last long enough.
