DJI Introduces Its First Smart TV App, Bringing High-Quality Aerial Content To More Homes Around the World

Announcing the DJI Smart TV App, which will be made available for smart TV platforms including the Samsung Tizen TV and Apple TV. The DJI Smart TV App will allow users to watch a variety of aerial content and 4k videos captured from around the world, all in the comfort of their living room.

"We've made flying and capturing aerial footage easy with our drones, and now with the DJI Smart TV App, creators will have more ways to share their work with the world. This is really an opportunity for people to be inspired, intrigued, travel to places they would have never imagined and see the world in a whole new way," said Paul Pan, Senior Product Manager.

Installation and Compatibility

The DJI Smart TV App is now available on Apple TV and Samsung Tizen TV platforms. Once their Smart TV is connected to the internet, users can browse for the DJI Smart TV App logo in the App Store. Once downloaded and installed, the DJI Smart TV App can then be activated without the need for registration.

The DJI Smart TV App is available in English and compatible with TV and entertainment devices running on Android 5.1 and above.

Actually it was pretty cool on my AppleTV :-) Found it completely by accident when I told siri to search YouTube for DJI videos and it found me the AppleTV app instead.

Pointless as the Apple TV can only output in 1080p.

What about the firmware update for the phantom 4. DJI why are you not looking after your customers?

Just checked my Samsung smart TV and do not see it.

There is already a DroneTV Network on Roku, its called DroneTV.  Not just endless travels shots but shows about, with and created by Drones.  By the way DroneTV is always looking for programs to air.  DroneTV has already had 1 Million Views.  If you don't have DroneTV, the network is mirrored on Vimeo.

what version of your Apple TV ? Mine is ok !

But what's point to install this Apps ? Seem just to see some movie from DJI, is it right ?

I have a feeling they are not far behind unless there is some type of political aspect of this.

Just loaded this & it freezes A LOT on my Samsung 4k TV. It's not very resourceful/useful anyway.

Does it work on Apple TV 3?  Or just the newest one?  Can't find on version 3.

What about Vizio 4K smart TV?

Downloaded on my ATV. Should have no issue finding it

I wish DJI would explain this new product in more detail.  How does it work?
1.  Does DJI allow the 4K video to be uploaded into the DJI cloud somewhere to be streamed?  If yes, what download speed internet connection is needed?
2.  Does this allow the SD card to be plugged into the a device to see 4K video?
3.  Does allow the video to stream directly from my home network computer to the TV, without going out onto the internet?

I'd really like DJI to announce selling their RoboMaster Ocu-Sync video receiver for Mavic.  That product by itself would be a catalyst to buy a Mavic.  It allows you to see real time aerial video on the big screen, directly from the Mavic to the TV, no internet needed.  Come on DJI, why are you holding that back?

Wait, what? That would be MONUMENTAL!!

I was somehow (silly me) thinking this app would expand on connectivity.

I just looked in the Google Play store and found nothing.....
I searched for:

Found it on Google Play on my Sony TV.  Installed it and it seems to work fine.  But I'm in South East Asia, I suspect available apps on Sony TV may differ between regions.

I got an Apple TV 4 with the latest software. I believe 10.2. I'll check again

No Chtomecast..... Man this is a apple ran company.

This could be a nice thing to have on my TV. Will it support H264 or H265 formats ?  I would be nice if you  save and play back you original footage using the App

Ive downloaded onto my ATV4, its just a video showing app, the videos are the ones DJI wants you to play

What would have been nice is an app that works with the ios system to show your flight videos and pictures (there are only 2 ways to do this at the moment, Airplay or d/l them to a network storage and playing via a viewer app)

Its a good job its free, I wouldnt pay for it

My system, although messy to start with has all my flights and pictures on and I can play them all via an app (INFUSE) to my ATV4 or IPADS

Found it on my 1 yr old LG Ultra HD  in additional apps this morning, tv wasn't an expensive one so I would think it will be freely available to most soon
