HI all,

With a little research if you live in Australia be worried.

It appears that if flying a DJI product in Australia after the update you will be limited to 50 mw transmitter power. This will be about 500meters.
Although they use the CE power transmition standard the power givin will be very small.

Its like buying a Ferrari and then having them say nope you can only drive it at 100km after the fact.

Just what I read. DjI products will comply with all Australian rules including 50mw maximum transmitter power.

Just so many rumours around here, once you put it out there you will get the band of crazies swarming all over it.
Personally I don't think it's true.

I doubt this is true, if it was, there would be a huge uproar resulting in consumer rights cases left right and centre. I'm in NZ and never heard of this reduction in transmit power. I purchased the Mavic for long distance flying (as advertised when purchased) in the countryside to scope rivers for fly fishing and under NZ law, I could simply return it for a full refund if this was in fact the case.

Might be time to sell these POS drones and buy from someone other than a NARCish company.

What a load of rubbish. If you are a registered Mavic user then you would have received an email from DJI explaining what is happening.

@fans3c192fa7     With a little research this thread would not have been created....
That limitation you are referring to is for the 5.8gig frequencies, not the 2.4gig that the Mavic uses. The Australian 2.4gig radios are the same output power as those used in the US (FCC standard).
