For some reason my map on my tablet is blank. It always worked before. Any suggestions?

Are you hooked up to wifi or cell?  Not in "airplane" mode that turns off wifi?

Did you cache your map ahead of time? Or are you flying in a different location?

I'm connected to the drone with wi fi and have the cell data turned on.

Did you recently do any sort of update since the last time it worked? If so you could try to delete the app and reinstall it. Just make sure and sync your flight logs first.

Does the map show when disconnected from the drone wifi and connected to your regular home wifi?

Could you clarify what mobile device and Go app version you're running?

Is cell data signal strong...  maybe a time out issue?    Maybe check to make sure cell data is still enabled for DJI app?

What happens if you go straight to the map app (not inside of GO)?

Get GO all up and running ... disconnect from Phantom WiFi and connect to Home Wifi .... power of Aircraft - its not needed now.

(Of course you can get Go to the screen by sliding finger across the Go to Camera screen without need of aircraft, but its easier as above ... ).

Now click on map screen and have that showing as main screen. Scroll around but stop and wait for it to fully load each section as you go.
Once you have scrolled around the area you will fly ... you can shut all down.

The map is automatically cached as you scrolled around.

When flying - it is not necessary to have Cell Data enabled ... in fact this can use up resources on your phone / tablet and cause display / memory errors while flying. Most people turn off the Cell side of their displays for flying.

I deleted the app and reloaded it. The map now works. Thanks michgolden

This video and all others I have found so far apply to the DJI-Go 4 app. I cannot find how one does this with the pre-4 Dji Go app as it does not appear to have the same features required to download maps

Good to hear you were able to get it sorted.

Sorry - too quick on the fingers and linked wrong video - corrected now - so the video link is now the pre-P4 version as we use on P3's.

I have to add though - I've found quite often that Map fails to load and I have got fed up with deleting / reloading app. I use Litchi most times and have Go for specific use at other times. It seems BOTH suffer similar. I think it must be something to do with way cache is handled by them. It might have been better if they had been coded to work with the proper map app itself instead of cache.

Not over the AC´s GPS,it goes over mobiles network with mobiles and AC´s GPS data.  The GPS data lets the app know what part of map are you downloading(caching) via mobile network.

I have found that the maps only stay cached for a certain amount of time. Not sure exactly how long that is, but they stay at least for a few days.  But as noted above, just connect to home wifi and scroll around to re-cache them. You may need to connect to the drone first (outside) to get the current GPS location (then disconnect and go to home wifi) to make it easier to scroll to where you want.
