Hello,

I have a new Mavic Pro that was running fine on my Android ver 4.1.1 (Droid Maxx). After the software update 2 days ago, the app crashes and closes on the opening splash screen every time I try to open it. Over the last 2 days when I should have been flying, I have repetedly removed the app and all associated folders and rebooted the phone and re installed the software. I tried running it in airplane mode which I always do while flying.

Since I have seen others with the same problem but no solutions yet. Can I assume it is a problem with the app? If so then DJI should let u go back to the app we know works so at least we can fly.

Has any one that had this problem found a solution? Or DJI can you advise if you read this (I have not received any reply from DJI on this issue as of now).
Please don't say buy an I-phone because that would be silly JUST for flying my drone.

Thank you
Mike

Android ver 4.1.1 (Jellybean) or DJIGO4 ver 4.1.1? I (android ver 6.0) just went back to GO4 ver 4.2, but it made no difference. I still have my last phone on Android 5.0 and Go4 does not crash.

I'm afraid Downgrade means Android 6 to 5, not DJI Go4. I'm now considering doing that. I'm looking for any hope the the newer Go4 versions have a resolution. I fear doing that just upgrading without feedback will make things worse. I've had to downgrade my Mavic firmware to '400' after so many other problems developed with FW 500 and 600. The gimbal, video feed, and more became unreliable. Sorry, it looks like I did that just in time, as 400 is no longer available. The real problem is eventually everything  will begin to fail without staying current.

Wrong, downgrade the app version. Done...

I had similar issues with every DJI Go Version above 4.0.5. But last weekend I figured something out: after deleting all local stored flight records, the app didn't crash! After syncing all flight records back to my phone, it started to crash constantly at the same point. After deleting all flight records again, it worked - can anyone verify this, too?

After downgrading the app. And still having the software randomly crash while flying. I found a used Samsung 5s which is on the DJI (approved list) that I bought and installed the newest version of DJI GO 4.

Everything now works perfectly 100% of the time and not a single hiccup. The upside is that the Samsung is dedicated to the Mavic only and my cell phone is freed up.  My recommendation would be to only use I-phone or Samsung phones for DJI GO 4.

I hope this info helps someone.
