Can someone tell me why follow me does not work? It complaines of a weak gps signal. I know the gps is ok as it works fine in all other modes like active track.

Active track does not use GPS.  Not all devices have a GPS receiver built in.   What device are you using?

Oh I get it. I'm using Ipad air/2 w/ wifi and cellular

OK..  If you have the Cellular model iPad, then you do have GPS capability.   Only thing I can suggest is to make sure you're out in the clear to get a good satellite fix.

Definitely out in the clear. Not that big a deal I guess.

Very interesting.  I upgraded to an iPad air2 with cellula (although no plan is active) about 3 months ago for two reasons.  1. larger screen and 2. GPS.  Unfortunately, I have NEVER even once been able to update the home point to my iPad location, but it works every time on my Samsung Galaxy S-8.  Also, follow me mode has never worked with the iPad.  I too would love to find an answer to this issue since I spent an additional $100.00 for the GPS functionality.  Any help is appreciated.

Is the Ipad real GPS or some kind of hybrid?  Yes, it would be nice to have full functionality.

This is an old issue I guess with no solution than to get a compatible device. Not all i devices are created equal I guess.

The only way I could solve this was with a Garmin GLO - another $100 unfortunately.

The gps performance/refresh rate of a phone simply isn't fast enough for drones, so I don't understand why a GPS receiver is not included  as part of the controller.
