Phantom 4 Pro won't connect and qr code won't scan

I just bought a new phantom 4 pro directly from DJI.  I am trying to set up the DJI GO APP and connect.  I'm scanning the qr code in the battery compartment with the serial number next to it, but it is not recognized.  I've tried photographing the code and enlarging the code and scanning it- no luck.  When I scan other qr codes, they scan, but indicate that they are the wrong qr codes.  I am scanning with my iPhone 7+ which is very sharp.  Why isn't the scan working and is that what is keeping me from connecting?  Please help!

The QR code in the aircraft is not what's needed to initially set up the unit. Just to clarify, is it the activation process itself that you're getting stuck in, or are you unable to get to that step at all? Have you tried using a different lightning cable? Have you tried reinstalling the app, either via the App Store or via the QR code in the quick start manual?
