One beep. Everything else seems to work exactly as it should.

1 beep the transmitter is set for European range, 400 meters, not the FCC range of 800 meters.

I'll have to check that this morning. I'Ve been in and out of that software dozens of times and I'd swear I insured that it was set to FCC. Certainly worth another look. Thank you!

Yeah, I can let it run out to 1400-1600' after my FPV freezes, then the connection breaks and it starts the RTH function. Far enough while I'm still learning but won't do in the long run. Thanks for your input.

That is why I love the other Gerry's drill it down style and ability to figure this stuff out..
You are operating in CE mode with a max limit of 400 meters with one beep and FCC with two beeps, you can change this with a dial at the backside of the RC and in there is also a selection in the Phantom Vision Assistant..Or it may be in the RC Assistant that needs to be selected, just make sure the air police don't get youIt is possible if the RC is is correct that the software may need to be verified also, either way, worth a check.

I now think it might be a bad range extender because he did say he was going out to 1400 to 1600 feet with no video and then get the LOS and RTH message.
Both my video and control signal lose about together, as I'm sure yours does too.

I'm suspect of the range extender as well. You think more likely the extender than the actual wifi module in the bird? I did open up the bird a week or so ago to take a look at the ESC's and the wifi and I do have the newer, vented wifi module.

It'll tell you by beeping once or twice, and in the rc assistant, although they don't always agree with each other ;-)

I changed to FCC mode by turning the screw.  My RC now beeps twice.  But the RC Assistant said it was still in CE mode until I manually checked the tickbox.

Great flight! I'm only getting about 1200' on a good day and I'm at the top of a hill with nothing b ...

I would have killed for 1,200 with stock antennas.  Unfortunately I am in Los Angeles with a lot of home routers and other wifi problems.  I was lucky to get 700' without losing control and or video signal.  I upgraded my antenna on the RC to "Stage 2" and now I get about 1,700 to 2,000 depending on where I am at.  Near or over the ocean 2,000' is about right.

Yeah, I thought about some mods but I need to better understand things before I make that jump. 700' in LA's probably pretty damn good. Stomped around that area for about 12 years. Bellflower, Lakewood, Long Beach, Artesia, Corona, Riverside. Good when I was young, like it much better in the open as I get older.

Thanks, i was in CE even if i thought to be in FCC. I didn't know about beeps, i had only the rc assistant setting but rc beeps only one. Now with both, screw and software, beeps twice.

A question, when the rc is connected to pc, wifi range extender need to be on? I've it off during this operations and i've also done a firmware update...

Dude, you must have Titanium in your sack!! I am nowhere near attempting those tests, so thanks for doing it!!

Hey guys I use this thread full of expert to avoid open a new one for a simple question...how long does it take for you to fully charge the rc? I've never charged it. But I've charged some times wifi extender and I have noticed that takes more than 4 hours even if charged when at 50%...

Fully charging the RC the first time will take 2 or 3 hours.  I plugged mine in when I got it and went to bed.  It will take about 10 hours or more of continuous use to drain it.

As Gerry states, several hours and one tip, if downloading photo or video from the Phantom, best to remove the card and download in card reader on your PC and avoid using the charge in the RC and TX, that will help preserve battery and it is a lot quicker and/or get the iPhone/iPad/android card reader adapter, still a lot lot quicker

Thanks for your report. My P2V+ is giving me problems. I just got both of my drones back from malfunctioning. DjI gave me a new controller for one of the and did all the calibrations and went to fly it and it flew away. Did not return. So be it for all the calibrations I did. I could not get my Samsung Gallexy 4 to bring up a picture. Went to bind the drone and I comes up with WIFI repeator connction failed. And Phantom Connection Broken. I am reaching out to you and everyone else that might be able to help me solve these problems, because DJI can not. Great support, NOT

wow!  you had TWO bad ones at once and sent them both in for repair together??

what exactly do you want to solve if you no longer have a drone after it flew away?  did the blind one fly away too?   little late to ask, no?
