Its been almost a year.. whats happening?

Inspire 2, Spark and a lot of mess!

I think this will take a long time, since there has been rumors of a lower range Mavic prior a Mavic 2.

Completely.  I've not seen any mess.  I've been using my mavic for a while now and had zero problems.  So rather than being so hostile why not explain what the mess is?

If they launch something will be around September . But I personally see a phantom 5 first and them a new mavic. Otherwise the "mavic 2" Will have same / more features of the phantom and I don't think this will happen.

But I'm no expert

Don't forget the m200, ronin 2, updates across most of the pro range, new agriculture bits, new racing kit, and a few new cameras.

Only mess I see is the one you're leaving all this forum.

When the Mavic was fist announced I expected that we'd see the "Mavic Standard" come out at some point down the road.  There was simply an overwhelming response to the Mavic and for months they couldn't produce enough to keep up even close to demand.  People were paying 3X prices for Christmas.  DJI admitted that they were completely caught off guard.  I'm pretty sure they decided to ride that train as long as they could before replacing the model with anything else.  

The theoretical Mavic 2 will probably be the one with different price points, but likely with the same form factor.  Since the Spark, there hasn't been any new leaks, and the first spark leaks were a really long time ago.  If the Mavic 2 has a different body style, then it's going to be even longer.

Maybe we should be asking if there will be a Mavic 2 ?

My guess is they will keep going with the Mavic until a worthy competitor is released. DJI has done a nice job of keeping one step ahead and did a masterful job of killing off the Karma. They Mavic is way ahead so they might as well milk it.

You are right!

They are going to milk it for another year or so, especially the spark is coming out soon and their profit margins on it is a lot higher than the mavic.

My Mavic must be an exception. No problems at all. I use an iPhone 5S or an Samsung A5. 3 batteries, no problems what so ever. No 'I lost my Mavic' and no 'DJI sucks'. Where is all the fuzz about?? I will leave for Cape North in Norway in 15 days. 5000 miles on a motorbike, 22 days. Using the Mavic every day. With confidence.

if the mavic pro 2 comes with a better video/camera setup I think i'll just send my MP back to amazon and wait because i'm burning batteries and wasting SD vids recording only to find its poor, even with all the settings on all the youtube vids it shows its not so easy to get good shots or there wouldnt be 100's of vids trying to help people , i dont want to spend an hour and even more expense on editing software to make a 1K drone video "look" good. I hope it gets better with some updates or firmware.

I highly doubt if the Mavic 2 will come out this year as they just released the spark and they can easily milk the mavic for another 7-8 months.

I am among the many who returned my mavic. Sry guys and girls. Before you start hating I loved it. But I was among many who possibly got a lemon. I'm not upset but tech from dji is off the charts. So rather than jump in for a second time which was very difficult not to, those of you who have a Mavic know what I'm talking about I figured the Mavic 2 has to have many of the features we all talk about the Mavic 1 is missing. Like 360 obstacle avoidance  and a greater battery life.
So I sit and wait. Please hurry DJI I'm struggle everyday not to pull the trigger and get another Mavic 1. Uuuuggghhhh

Forget 2 I'm still enjoying what the 1 has to offer.

Yep, I will continue to enjoy Mavic 1.0. I think I will wait until all the bugs are worked out of 2.0 much like I did with the first one.  I'm early adopted the Spark, that's enough adventure in my life.

I hope they don't come up with a lower grade Mavic.

The new version is finally out.  

DJI Mavic Pro Platinum  with little improvement and a higher price tag......

waiting more reviews and testing , to see if it is worth to upgrade .
