Surprised you didn't get arrested the whole of Edinburgh is a restricted airspace as there's an airport within 5 miles. I live about 15 miles from here and wouldn't dream of flying my drone there.
Some great footage there rich_g , a bit ballsy to fly along Princes St in E'dinburgh, and you captured the castle superbly. I,m heading up to Skye next month for a week of filming with the Mavic..So great to see some of your footage..Keep posting, when you are back in the air.
Great stuff love the highlands, this is the great thing about being a Mavic owner, if you travel anywhere just chuck it in a bag and you've got decent drone footage, like the others say I wouldn't dare fly mine in a city like Edinburgh we were there not so long ago, but at the end of the day you got some Awesome footage there
I went to loch Ness in march and there was a lad flying back drone there,I saw some of the stuff he was doing, now as an amateur photographer it took my breath away, so when I got back home I did some research and purchased a phantom 3 professional, if my stuff comes out half as good as yours then I will be happy, one point though is what editing software do you use?
Gorgeous video and had me drooling to go back to Scotland. Love that country! My wife and I are heading to Italy in less than two weeks and I have to say with everything we have read and seen I'm scared to death i'm going to get fined or have my drone confiscated because it seems like there are more places you cannot fly than places you can. Were you not scared to death to fly over Edinburgh and did you have to get special permission to do that or did you just wing it (see how I did that? lol).
lovely video and work, but i cant for the life of me understand why you flew right over Edinburgh city centre, unless you had permission? i thought that flying over mass populated areas was a big no no at any altitude, not being a stick in the mud for your obvious good shooting and such, but its things like this that get the community in trouble is it not?
Great footage. But how do you get it to a manageable file size with out losing too much quality ?
I have some video I'd love to post and/or email to friends but cannot seem to be able to get a small enough file with any quality.
I am shooting 1080 or 4k and trying to downsize using "Shotcut"
Would really appreciate some advice as I am new to the scene & have resorted to stills only.
