I'm in Canada & I would buy the Spark if it also had a <250g total weight battery extra.
I keep checking this forum to see if anyone has done the mod themselves.. I would jump in and follow at that point too.
(your poll asked the wrong question because you got people who wanted longer flight times responding skewing the poll. If there are only 31 people who would buy a lighter battery DJI will never make one!
But at the least they should answer if this is feasible)

For my purposes flight time and flight distance are the two biggest limitations of Spark. I would certainly NOT buy any battery with less flight time.

In Spain we have the same 250 grams limit.
With battery it weights less than 290.
We expose to a 50.000 € fine.
With less than 250 gr we can go up to 20 meters.
This camera is perfect for these pics

Why? Are the requirements for drones heavier than 250 grams onerous in Canada?

A lighter battery would be a great asset with the choice of flying in an otherwise restricted environment.
