How to connect to new ipad 2 mini with just wifi?

You may power on the RC and AC and then last but not least the ipad mini. Go to the setting of the ipad and Wlan. Have a look for the Phantom_3Sxxx. Tab connect and then type in the password of your phantom.
The WIFI says it has no internet connection. That´s normal. It´s not needed for flying the drone.

if you mean that you wanna control your phantom with wifi, it can't.
you turn on your controller and your aircraft.
in wifi in settings you will see phantom_xxxxxxxx
connect to that with default password 12341234( you can change it)
you go to dji go, click your p3s and click camera

This video may be helpful, you know, you need to activate the new drone first before you use it.

I can connect to my drone with my ipad but when i try to use the live feed to facebook feature it says you are not connected to the internet..

Does your device have cellular connectivity?

it has the capability but does not have cell service at the moment..i just figured i would be able to use the phatom wifi

No, you’d need to use a SIM card... How would your wifi connect out in the field?

Sure thing. It gives you the live broadcast advantage.
To your personal Facebook page or if you have created a YouTube channel.

Plus your maps will always be available too.

The other good thing about the cellular version of iPads, is that they’re the only version with GPS.
I wasn’t sure if you already understood that advantage as well?

You require that for the DJI autonomous flight modes.

He will still require a SIM card.

Airplane mode only blocks all other invasive apps. Stops them from interfering with the flight app.
Stuff like receiving a text, or an incoming call, could cause havoc with the app.
