Hi guys,
Just like some guys have informed this, but no separated thread to show how to do that. So I decided to make one.
For modes as : Dronie, Helix, and Rocket (Not applicable for Circle), you can choose the parameter.

For example, Dronie, you can choose the distance to fly back. Following below steps:
1. Choose Quickshot mode.
2. Draw the rectangle on your screen to choose the target.
3. Then tap on the type of quickshot again. In this case Dronie. This will bring up the parameter menu to choose. (See attachment)
4. You slide the bar to increase/ decrease the flyback distance. Then choose the tick icon to confirm. (See attachment)
5. Tap the target on the screen to "Go".

Apply the same procedure for other modes.

Hope this help!

Keep flying guys.

Phuong

I tried this yesterday and it didn't work... does it happen every time?

Do you notice that altitude is related to distance? short range high altitude, long range low altitude dronie?

Hi Timothy,
I don't think it is linear like your graph, I have tested 10m and 40m. the distances as following:
If Distance is 40m - it lifted up 5m.
If  Distance is 10m - it lifted up 2m.
But one thing for sure the short the distance, the lower it lift. And 10m is the minimum, 40m is the maximum for phone wifi (With RC may have longer range)

I tried to limit it today, set both the dronie and helix to 10 and it still seems like it went very far. I was flying in a big park with a soccer field in the middle and I had to stop it to make sure it did not hit a tree.  Im afraid until they work out the quirks I'm not a big fan of these two modes.

Hi, the distance settings work perfectly for me. I set 10m for dronie and rocket. They really worked.

One way to keep track of the distance is follow the number on your screen at the bottom (Height Distance Velocity) , if the distance is still less than 10m, you are fine (if further, there must be issue, you should cancel immediately and contact DJI for support).

Sometimes it is less than 10m, but seems far because Spark is small, and that scare you. However, it is still under control.

If I set it to 10m for dronie, will it go 10m away from its current position ? I will try it tomorrow and see how it goes .

Yes. So if it is 2m from homepoint. And facing the homepoint, then 10m dronie will make distance 12m from homepoint (10 +2).
However, if it is turning its back to the homepoint, then the 10m dronie will stop at 8m from homepoint (10-2).

It would be great if we could choose between

Distance AND Angle
Distance AND Height

for the Dronie

I think it would not be a good idea, since quickshots enable you to quickly record. To many adjustments will go against the original purpose.

Hi there,  I'm sorry, but I disagree.  You should be able to set both height and distance, which are then remembered for all future quickshots, until you decide to change them - means you can still take the shot as quickly, and you can be sure it will do what you expect.

i will test when i get home from work today, but it would be nice if the app could remember my preference for distance. Correct me if i am wrong, but it seems to reset to 40m for me  each time.

Yes, so far as I notice, it defaults to 40m.

so i tested today.  Only the rocket worked good as it stoped at 10M. I tried the Helix and Dronie and it went over 10m easily . I stopped them both around 80M from me or so as spark has no rear sensors and at that distance its hard to tell how close the trees are.  I guess its maybe not the distance you set but the height, but if thats the case its not gaining the altitude fast enough.

I saw the parameter setting today which limited my max dronie distance to 60m. However, i want it to go much further to capture a mountain top.. like 200m? Any ideas how to do it? I hav seen YouTube vids doing 1000ft!! Anyone knows?
