I see there is a new Go app which was released today... Version 3.1.12

Anybody tried it yet?

This is the one that needs signing in to avoid flight restrictions.
I have no issue with that, but still, I'll wait to see if DJI have slipped any bugs in!

They just released 3.1.6, where are you seeing 3.1.12?

3.1.12 is IOS, I think 3.1.6 is Android

I ran it this morning and it worked fine on my iPad Mini2. I had to log in again, but that's ok.
Didn't notice any extra restrictions in my area. There was a Class E hospital heliport popup warning, but that was there before. Just dismiss it and be careful. (I called the hospital heliport mgr awhile back and he was fine with me 1/4 mile away.)
I think the changes were to their post production video and music editor. And of course "the " FaceBook.
So far, I wouldn't go to any trouble trying to avoid it. IMO

Hey, thanks. It's good to know someone who has trialled this new app, and found it to be unaffected by hidden faults. ;-)

Why bother, there's nothing in the What's New that seems worth the effort.

Yes, I follow your reasoning. Makes sense, that it's nothing to get excited about.

I just like to stay current, without too much negative crap, hidden in the folders.

So you must still have the regular maps then, and not that crappy one pilots in the United States are stuck with.
Here in Canada we still have the original map, with all the details and mostly pretty current.

It's funny though, when I fly at the old defunct municipal airport, the runways are still visible on the map, even though that airport has been closed for a couple of years, and being developed into a large apartment complex.

I somehow got forced to update to the 3.1.12 and now there is no map!
Has any one been able to use the map to fly?
Map loaded into flight records but map would not load into camera view when connected to aircraft or even when not connect and on home wifi
Any suggestion would be much appreciated! I really miss flying by map!

I had read someone else had a problem with a blank map after this update.
Not sure if it's widespread or rare. You could delete the app and reload it, first clear Internet cache and cookies, turn off your device and reboot.

I upgraded to 3.1.12 and have a map on both my iPhone 6 and iPad mini2.   I didn't need to clear cache or do anything else in my case.   Except of course to have my wifi turned on...   :-)

Ah, that's good news to hear. Sometimes a piece of space debri gets caught in the download mix, and has to be Jostled loose. Hahaha

I have good news and bad news!
I flew today and maps worked great.
Had a fun flight landed and put in fresh battery and map was gone
Tried but map would not come back! Just a grey screen with a scale of 0 to 0 in the corner!
I do not want to reinstall the app for every flight.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Yes, you may need to check to see if Cache Maps in Backround is turned on.
Did you cache them before you left home?
If you are out at a flying location, & had a cell phone, you could use it as a wifi hot spot to reload the map.

Otherwise, you may have to cache the map, and see that it works outside, beyond your home wifi setup.
Turn it off, and back on a few times. Anyway as mentioned before, most guys fly by camera view and not the map.


But it's good to see the line of your flight on the map. I use one of the buttons on the back of my RC to switch between camera and map view. Sometimes cached maps work, others they don't, I wouldn't let it get you down. When you revue the flight , even if you had no map present, it will show up there.
We are half way to rocket science, not quite there yet. ;-)

No flights, zero transmissions, or missions.lThere is going to be a lot of cool things going on here this weekend, all across the great nation, Canada Day, turns 150 tomorrow.

Saddle Tramp?
Those worn out ridden hard put away wet, remains, of days gone by.
One of those relics didn't even have stirrups.
The leather "skirting" carving was miserable, simple to elementary, on both.


I will get some pictures of them later. I Should have done so earlier.
I pity the horses that graced those.
One of them has a cracked wooden tree, near the back.
