Someone please help I upgraded my phantom for pro over two weeks ago everything was fine until a few days ago it would not let me fly over 100 feet up 100 feet out all my settings are correct maximum out to the maximum distance and for some reason I'm stuck in like a beginner mode

I am having the same problem. All settings are correct and  software is updated. Sometimes I can fly normally but lately am getting the error "maximum distance reached". This is about 100 ft up and out.
I am not in any restricted area and should not be getting this error. I have a lot of jobs booked and this issue is VERY concerning!!  It turns a valuable tool into a very expensive toy that is useless to me.
Please advise DJI.

Maybe you can try logout your DJI Go app account and login again.

Are you logged into your DJI account while you're using DJI GO to fly your P4P?

You have to log in to the dji app to unlock the flight restrictions. You dont have to be online after you do it online the first time and once every 90 days. Once you log in the restrictions will automatically be unlocked. You dont have to do anything else. DJI just wants to make sure you have your tfr's and nfz's up to date.

if you use litchi or a 3rd party  app you need to start with the go app so it unlocks the restriction and then you can close it and open litchi. You have to do this every flight.

Welcome to the club of pilots who have be inexplicably grounded with no apology or explanation from DJI as usual.  

It really does SU#% !! and if you bad mouth them they will boot you off the forum,,

I'm ready to send it back and ask for a full refund, see how they respond to that

You can not bind a p4 controller with a p4p. Its not the same controller. The p4p controller uses a 2 channel video uplink controller. The p4 uses a single channel. Sorry, I wish I had better news for you.

So how does this work if you have no internet access?  This "system" is garbage....

If you do not have internet  then you never got off the ground to begin with. You have to update all dji quads when you first unbox them. If you do not update the app then you wont ever need internet. The updated app only needs to be logged in online once after the update and again every 90 days to update tfr's and nfz's.

Then I would call DJI and talk to tech support. This isnt a tech support forum. It just for dji customer to swap war stories or whatever. Their not going to chime in with a tech support agent. You gotta call for that.

How are you going to return it after a year?

Same problem here.
NOT in Beginner mode.
I AM logged in & connected to wifi.
MAX ALTITUDE setting = 120m
But the drone is limited to 100' altitude (don't know about horizontal distance, too many trees over 100' to go that far!)
Why is this limitation set on our drones?
I didn't have this problem 6 days ago.

I havent bit the bullet yet on Litchi but it is about that time. I wanted to master the go app first and the scars on my foot and my arm tell me thats not likely to happen any time soon so no need in putting it off any longer.

Maybe its the credit card or phone number verification thing. Did you enter a CC or a phone number in the app for the identification conformation?  Since that whole faa registration debacle dji wants every quad married to an owner. Thats part of why you have to log in every 90 day so that if the quad changes hands they get updated owner info every 90 days. Big brother Chan is watching.

Yeah, I understand. You'll still need GO for updates (arrgghh) and some calibration functions, but otherwise Litchi has the rest. Plus, if you believe what you hear, it's more stable for Android users, and video break-ups occur less. The latter is no doubt due to it being a better built app which doesn't suck as much CPU as GO does, rather than transmitter signal quality.

A gotcha though is DJI's recent removal of the ability to disable Smart RTH. If it decides it wants to return home due to low power it'll cut an autonomous Litchi mission short. Many people asking for that toggle back now...
