Greetings all... My first post, and I have a question about hardwiring the RC with an OTG and iPhone 5S lightening. After everything I've read, I want to hardwire my RC. I haven't had any issues with the iPhone to RC WiFi, but I'm still mainly flying in Begginer Mode ;)

So, I did hardwire last night, and iOS said accessory may not be supported (ok, np). But, I noticed I did not get any video feed once I turned WiFi off and ran on cable only. I could control gimbal, but no video.
Next I tried connecting to RC WiFi first, then plugging in cable, then disabling WiFi, and now I have video...

Is this normal? That I should have to connect to WiFi first before hardwiring?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KC

I use these two with my iPhone SE...
Right Angle Lightning Cable : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lightni ... ays+lightning+cable
OTG Adapter : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Joyshar ... eywords=otg+adapter

I plug lightning cable into phone, mount phone on RC, power on RC, start app, connect cable to RC (get accessory not supported) and then turn on Spark.

Works everytime, no issues.

I would say this is a better choice of products:

Use this to connect any cable to the controller : http://amzn.to/2uymZXz

Use this Mavic Look-alike cable to connect iPhone to controller, : http://amzn.to/2sUxT7M

Any reason why the adapter is better?
Do you have the cable you mention? Does it fit the remote?
With the right angle micro USB end will it fit in the recess on the remote?

Yes I have the cable and it fits and works perfectly, the adapter is perfect for connecting other proprietary cables

This worked like an absolute charm. The key is to leave Spark off and have it be the last device powered up. Thanks again!

I found the following to work
1. put phone in airplane mode.
2. Then Turb rc and spark on (waiting until paired.)
3. Then plugging cable into phone and RC waiting for the message this is not supported.
4. Launch dji go 4 app.

Everything should work.

With recent firmware updates, and bluetooth disabled on iPhone 7, it seems my wifi RC connection issues have been resolved. So is there still any benefit to the hardwire option? Perhaps it reduces video latency? (Lag seems to be roughly 1s for me with wifi.)
