I  am a VERY happy customer with Handwheel2 on my I2 RC. It solves  many  issues, including my tapping on the iPad 4 mini for focusing...

Issue:  When my handwheel 2 arrived (7/1/17) the screw mount would not  engage  tightly with the rosette in the handwheel, being 2-3 mm not deep  enough  so the recesses were tight and all of the brass pins were loose  and  broke contact/ shorted out.Hence, inconsistant operation.

Problem:  in Pic1, the sgrew top of the 1/4-3/8 screw adapter is too  thick,  causing the Shoulder (Pic2) to rub on the screw insert face  (Pic1).

Solution  (In two parts).... As a professional photographer  (about 45  years), I  have ammassed a pile of tripod adapters. In Pic3, the adapter  on the  left is the DJI OEM (stainless steel, very nice), but the  shouder is too  thick, causing the problem when installed in Handwheel2.  The middle  adapter is a cheap brass one from my closet (thinner  shoulder but still  too thick. The third one is similar but with the  shoulder cut off by  wire nippers, so It would fit in temporarily until  my new part came in.

New  part came in (Pic4), adapter has no shoulder, screws in enough to  be  flush, Handwheel2 works and mounts perfectly, and is no longer  shorting/  missing pins with the wheel. Still brass, but of high  quality... Pic5

DJI  was notified of the issue and are working on it.... But this will  get  you going until they get new parts or redesign the shoulder in  the  Handwheel2 mount

I'm having the same problem! Did this "new part" you were waiting for come from DJI?

I've had the same problem as well. DJI need to change the adapter.

I just bought one of these handwheels.  it came with an extra part that i did not know what to do with it.  My handwheel is loose and really useless as is.

The extra part is for mounting on different types of mounts like Osmos. If you look at the center hole you can see it is roughly 2-3mm thicker than the one mounted at the plant. hope this helps....

where exactly can i find that replacement part to fix this thing,  i dont think DJI is going to do anything in the near future even though i only had it 2 weeks.

Mine had exactly the same problem I ended up modifying it, would be interesting to find out if they were all sent out with this fault??

Any ideas DJI Mindy ??

I bought mine on July 27th and even though i ordered it from DJI, it actually came from i guess a dealer in the Atlanta area.  It appears from the answers that DJI is giving that it is still a problem.  I have a 3/8 to 1/4 bushing coming today that i hope will make the handwheel at least fit tightly to the stand.  I still want DJI to fix this as it should have been fixed when i paid $400+ for it.  Mindy says an engineer is working on the problem, i reported the problem over a week ago and xglobalyst sent me the place where i could get the part.

Reference xglobalyst photo, I ended up machine this shoulder it now fits perfectly DJI should be fixing this problem it's not difficult.
