Has anyone tried the other apps after updating: Autopilot, GS Pro, Vertical, Altizure...

I usually update soon to squeeze any benefits out of new releases, but my system is working now and I see more possibilties for problems than for improvements with changes in NFZ management and logging in for safety.

It's nothing serious, doesn't danger my Inspire 1 from flying. It's just a bug I found within the DJI Go software. I've tried Litchi and the symptoms are there, but not as bad as the DJI Go app. With Litchi open, the gimbal doesn't go limp and then suddenly wake up and rotate. Instead, it stops slightly to the right like it did with the DJI Go app, but this time it corrects itself and faces forward. The DJI Go app makes the gimbal go limp, I am not sure why.

It's not the end of the world though. I just turn on my remote, then Inspire 1 and wait for the Inspire 1 gimbal to finish rotating. After it's done, I then turn on the DJI Go app. No problems. However, it is annoying to do it this way. So please try and fix this.

Thank you

The release notes in the PDF, What's new section item 2:
For  increased  safety,  the  flight  is  restricted  to  a  height  of  30  m  and  distance  of  50  m  when  not
connected or logged into the app during flight, including DJI GO and all apps compatible with DJI
aircraft.

Does this mean that if I want to use a 3rd party app and not launch the DJO Go app that I can only go 30m high and a distance of 50m from home point if I am not logged in? That will really suck. I REALLY wish they would explain this instaed of putting in these very incluclusive descriptions. This is a professional device, we are professionals. We need DETAILS PLEASE DJI.

...and the love hate relationshp continues on.

Many thanks,
Houston

Remember, the release note has said that you are not forced to upgrade. But once the AC FW is upgraded there is no going back. You will be forever bound by DJI's rule. So I have not done anything except following on any issues people have. My I1 is flying perfectly and DJI will not do any improvement to it since I2 is their current focus and with spark and others. Too many issues with DJI' s software, I don't think it worths it, honestly.

(Flew three batteries with this firmware and latest Go app. All within 300m distance.
Had one app crash for no particular reason. Was hoovering in front of me and the next moment the app was gone. Restarted it and all fine.
I have the impression that the bird does not hold its altitude when braking hard. Seems to fall 2m when putting the stick in neutral in GPS mode when flying at high speed. Not sure if it was that pronounced before and not a problem either. )

Was about to ask.
The drone should really go silent once the upgrade was complete or scream "hurray". But that D-DD as success sound is something you misinterpret easily.

Hey Mindy. I'd rather not disconnect the gimbal while the Inspire is powered on. I don't want to damage the gimbal. All I can say is, when the DJI go app is not opened, the gimbal does it's self-checking normally. The moment I launch the DJI go app, the self-checking in the gimbal acts weird. I've been allowing the Inspire power on first without launching the DJI go app. Once the Inspire is powered up and the gimbal is done it's self-checking... I then open up the DJI go app. Flew 4 batteries over the weekend, no problems. The software in the DJI go app needs to be looked at and hopefully fix the issue I'm having.

Just noticed something just now. Booted up the Inspire 1 without the gimbal connected. So I got the legs lowered, not in travel mode. I open up the DJI Go app, few seconds later I hear the transformation servo activate for some odd reason. I see the legs move very slightly and stop. It's as if the VPS system tried to correct itself while the legs were already down. Anyone else experience this? I had the Inspire on the DJI Inspire case when I heard the transformation servo activate.

It is OK for a small test. Our engineers have confirmed that the gimbal has no any malfunctions, don't worry.

Still does it. Again, the gimbal rotates at the end weird like I showed in the video. I even tried my cell phone as well. Doesn't matter what device I use. The moment DJI Go is open first and then turn on the remote and Inspire 1... The gimbal rotates and right before it finishes, the camera goes limp and then wakes up to finish the self checking.

Hey guys! I've been out of the loop for a while.

I haven't updated my GO app or firmware in a while now because I was waiting to see how this flight restriction thing unfolds.

Are there any negatives in updating? I always fly logged into the GO app or Autopilot so that's not an issue. I do fly jobs in remote areas with no internet connection, is there any way flight restrictions could ruin my day in this case?

If I were to just leave it at the current FW and not update the GO App will I be forced to at some point? I just dread the day I'm out in the middle of nowhere with a client and my gear gets bricked.

What to do?

OK, bad news, the Encoder on the camera has failed 0800 of code "device Not detected " and also the USB module on the AC has failed as well 1500 "device not detected". Now  in MOSY cases it is just the 0800 code on the camera that is casing issues and you will need to send the AC camera in for repair , now if they just need to re update the corrupted module it is usually less than 100 US dollars if it is Broken then you may want to just replace the camera with a new one as the repair is close to the cost off a new camera .  I would get an RMA number going and get it in for repair or replace ASAP.

I have NEVER seen a repair for this failure  that the consumer could do .

Hi Donnie.  So after taking the whole year off since you gave me your diagnosis last July, I finally decided to try to get my Inspire 1 working again.  I replaced the USB module and that solved the connection issue between aircraft and RC.  I did not replace the encoder module in the camera and indeed that left me with the dreaded "no image transmission" message and of course no video.  I swapped the camera with an older camera (that still works but has a periodic twitch) and that worked (but of course still twitches).  So now I'm thinking, can I just take the good encoder module out of the old (twitching) camera and use it to replace the module in my newer camera?  I have not attempted to open the camera so not sure what I would be getting myself into.  I don't even know what the decoder module looks like. Thoughts?
