Hello was flying my drone yesterday and it just started moving itself it took off over a house in a state so I tried to bring it back and wouldn't work it would just stop I pressed return to home then it was only doing 0.2 KPH  so I tried sport mode and nothing seemed to work  I had flown in stronger wins than the one I lost it in yesterday I don't know why it wasn't able to cope.
I go to the GPS signal and there is nothing  there I asked the owner of the land could I look and she was lovely she let me check everywhere in the area.it's a big lot of land the neighbour brought me out to look for it and it just wasn't there.
So I go to my flight records and I noticed that there is a gap right at the end when it goes off for at least 15 seconds it jumps. The GPS shows it moved about 50 m in a split seconds which  is impossible but it has it on the flight record.

Thanks

Andy

Hello was flying my drone yesterday and it just started moving itself it took off over a house in a state so I tried to bring it back and wouldn't work

It sounds like you might have taken off from a geomagnetically distorted location. What kind of surface (e.g., road or sidewalk) did you use for takeoff?

So I go to my flight records and I noticed that there is a gap right at the end when it goes off for at least 15 seconds it jumps. The GPS shows it moved about 50 m in a split seconds which  is impossible but it has it on the flight record.

That's typical of ATTI mode where GPS is disabled: that portion of the flight log won't show the aircraft's position being updated because it doesn't know where it was during that time.

There's a TXT file on your mobile device that contains some information about the flight. Locate the appropriate log, upload it using these instructions, provide a link to the uploaded log in this thread, and someone here may be able to suggest the best place for you to look for it.

In your first screenshot it was at critical battery 15% in the red, it should have went into landing as it says at top left. Did you have control then?

Open the app - on the first screen before entering the devise at the top right corner are 3 horizontal bars for menu - open the menu - go to FIND MY DRONE - post and image of that screen shot - hopefull go pick up yr drone at that location - this is personal experiance (happened to me on saturday)

Concrete often has (steel) rebar embedded within it, which can cause a problem with the Mavic's compass, but in any case once you upload the flight log we may be able to suggest where to look.

@droneflying  I took off just from normal ground and it was the wind at first I didn't notice that it was moving but when I did noticed it was gone fast and when I pressed turn around and try move it back it was down 0.2 km then I did return to home mode and I just went to 1 to 2 km so  if you seconds  I jumped into my jeep and Dhruv towards it I was half way between the take off and last location  when it said Landing

The instructions for retrieving the TXT file are here. Once you've got the correct file, upload it to that same web page and then provide a link to the log in this thread.

That's not correct. Be sure to follow the instructions on the PhantomHelp page for accessing the correct file. It will have an extension of TXT and once you've retrieved it from your mobile device you'll be able to upload it by selecting it after you click on the "Upload Log" file on that page.

Offhand it appears that what happened is that RTH was initiated because your battery level was getting low and the Mavic wound up running out of power before it could complete the return trip. Looking at the log I can see it getting closer to the home point -- but just barely -- as the battery level gets progressively lower.

What people sometimes don't realize is that the wind is often significantly stronger as altitude increases. AirData indicates that the winds at ground level were moderate during your flight (about 15 MPH / 24 KPH) and unfortunately you were fighting a headwind on the return trip. Another thing that new pilots often aren't aware of is that the Mavic won't use sport mode speeds during RTH, so even the ground level winds would have been a challenge during the return trip.

If you look at the last notification "l" (lower case "el") in the AirData notifications tab, you'll see the exact location at which it began landing ("Mode changed to AutoLanding"), apparently because it reached the critically low battery level. I believe if you search in and around that location you'll find it there, but based on the map data it might have wound up in a tree.

That's ok; analysis would have been a little easier through PhantomHelp, but at this point I don't think it'll really add much. You need to be looking in and around the location where it says near the end of the notifications that it was landing. I can pretty much guarantee you that it wound up in that location and hopefully it's still there.

There is no csv file with that however, you can tell that you started your mission on 90% battery, you flew straight out and kept going until RTH turned you around , at that stage you only had 40% battery left, so you were never going to make it home , your AC went into RTH because you lost RC signal, but it was heading into a 15mph wind you were quite high so it may not have felt like that to you on the ground, although you were trying to put AC into sport mode, because you had no signal or AC was already in RTH you can't switch into sport mode. Regards to missing time and thinking Aircraft was flying to fast, that's just a result of data loss.

Lastly near the end of your log it shows AC going into critical battery and initiating landing this is where your airdata log ends so one would think your AC is in that vicinity.

It landed right here. It is -- or at least was -- very near the location pinpointed on that map.

P.S. Don't worry about uploading to PhantomHelp any more. I think I was able to get all the useful information I needed from AirData this time.

I tried but look what it says

Also, the specific coordinates where it landed are 53.269085460893, -6.17702348558134. Assuming that your phone has GPS and you have the property owner's permission, you can walk around the area until you find the location that matches those coordinates and the Mavic should be very close by at that point. Though again, based on what I'm seeing in the map it may be stuck in a tree.
