i love my spark despite a lot of people having issues with it but i do think that it may be a touch on the slow side when its not in sport mode. like really really slow. is there a way to increase the speed of normal mode?

Try disabling obstacle avoidance, I did that and it was faster

That's correct, it will only do 6ish mph with obstacle avoidance, around 12 with it turned off.
