I love flying my Spark. However, flight time is an issue. I have a couple of batteries and planning to buy a third. Charging the batteries one by one with the drone is not ideal. The battery charger will be very helpful however I am not convinced by the price tag of it. Are there any alternative options for charging the batteries?

Context: I bought the Spark and the controller separately because the fly more combo wasn't in stock.

The dji charger works really well. For me it was an added bonus with flymore. Having used it I'd highly recommend it. Charges the batteries really quickly (I have two batteries).

We recommend that Spark owners use a battery charging hub for charging more than one battery. It can charge three Spark batteries at the same time and its intelligent current-limiting feature prolongs battery life.

Sorry, your 12 watt charger is not faster than an 18 watt charger. Stop the misinformation or support it with proof.

Not this again...did you even read the OP? He said it's a pain charging one at a time through the quad and is looking for a multi-battery charger.

Hello, I make my own charger for Spark battery.. I use pads on bottom the battery... Input in battery 13,05V and 2A... I created battery dock and print it.. For regulating voltage and current I use CC/CV regulator from ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/LM2596-D ... :g:tZ4AAOSwo4pYP~22) and set 13,05V and 2A on output.. I added Step-Up DC-DC converter too. My charger works from 10V to 20V input voltage.. Need FAN COOLER!!! Battery is charged after cca 45 mins. It is very simple :-) .

Actually, the charger is 29 watts so like I said, the iPad Pro charger works better and faster than the cheap "throwaway" charger that comes with the $499 spark. If you guys would do a little research then you would no longer embarrass yourselves, thank you...

Man.. stop spreading wrong informations!
The iPad Pro charger is 12W!
https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD836LL/A/apple-12w-usb-power-adapter?fnode=85&fs=fh%3D459d%252B470e

The iPad charger must have 5,8A @ 5V to get 29W. Nonsense!
You don’t even own the stock charger, you bought the fly more combo.

Yes that was the like cheapest one on amazon. I thought that 100watts would be enough to charge the 3 batt tray.

There is a whole range of options on amazon - one to fit every budget

Tomorrow it will be the 86W charger?

The 29W usb Type C charger can charge with 14,5V / 2A or 5V / 2,4A. Type C Standard.Does the spark support type C charging? Or only QC 3 with 12V?

Don’t let him fool you. Read the linked thread! He was talking all the time about the 12W. Now about the 29W?

The included Z4 charger he is talking about (28min) is faster than the iPad Pro charger. That is what he said.
Maybe you can calculate the power is must have? And when you have the result go and check it with the specs! You will see......

Now I am out.. I have proofed it several times in the other thread. Go and believe every nonsense you read.

Hi Arcicorsa, I'm interested in your charger but I'm not clear about a couple of things.
You mentioned using 2 of the metal pads on the bottom of the battery. I tested these with a multi meter but couldn't get any voltage reading. Also, what are the other 2 pads for ?
Also, the Spark battery is a 3s lipo. How are you balancing the charge ?
Thanks.

If it is like the Phantom batteries, balancing is handled by the battery itself (part of the intelligent features).

Hello, on pads you measure no voltage. In battery is on the pads MosFet transistor.. Other pads is data link. Yes battery is 3S, but charging and balancing circuit is in the battery. You connect source in CC (1,5A) mode with end voltage 13,05V on pads according to my photo, battery begin charge. Balancing and stop charging drive the battery.

Thanks for that. Bit beyond my diy skills unfortunately.
I came up with a portable option using a spare lipo battery and one of these ......  https://goo.gl/dTTR4v
Charges 2 spark batteries in about 50 minutes and can also charge the RC.

I have been using the DJI 3 battery charger that came with my kit ($69)  to charge my 4 batteries.   I have gone through the process of starting to fly and when I land after the first flight, battery goes in the charger and when I am done with each battery/flight it goes in the charger, by the time I have used up my 4th battery, the first is ready to go again.  Seems I could do this forever or until the RC or Tablet runs out of juice.   I have an inverter in my car and will give that a try at some point.

Some one was showing a charging solution that had a large Battery that you could take to the field seemed it had spots for 3 spark batteries on it and could do about 2 charge cycles or about 6 batteries.  Don't remember the recycle time and i can't find the thread now.

Nice work, why not build it in a way that you can charge while connected to the Spark? I wonder when DJI will utilize this capability. These connectors are not there by mistake...
