I was looking at some ipad mini 4 cases online (Amazon) and wondering if the mini 4 with case will still fit in the holder of the P4P controller.  Anyone using a case and if so which one?  Screen protectors too?  

I think a normal front cover, easily detacheable, would be much better. A full case, when the front flap is folded back, might be too thick for the holder...

A "normal front cover" meaning screen protector?  I'm new to tablets, bear with me.

Yes, I think it can be called a screen protector. it connects to the longer side of the tablet via magnets and detaches easily, while a case has a back where the tablet sits, and a front flap which can be folded back, and taking the tablet out of the back can be annnoying...

When I say "case", this is what I mean.  Maybe it's called a skin, a protector, a protective case.  I'm not talking about the purse style girly case.

I see what you mean… I think that is what is called a skin. So, it would depend on how thick it is, also with regard to the slot in the Phantom foam carrying box, which has a slot for an iPad Mini sized tablet…When I was talking about a case I was referring to this (Apple calls it a Smart Case). A Cover would just be something like the upper part of a Smart Case, with a thin magnetic hinge, and Apple calls it a Smart Cover. A screen protector would be one of those thin, transparent sheets of plastic that one can put on the screen to protect it from dust and scratches.

The maximum for the mobile device holder is 170mm, so we recommend buying one lower than this size.

Hi DJI Thor, I just checked, and the iPad Mini 4 is 203.2 x 134.8 mm, 6.1 mm thick, previous models were 200 x 134.7 mm, 7.5 mm thick,  so they would certainly fit the holder even with a skin. On the other hand my iPad 5th gen is 200 x 169.5 mm, 7.5 mm thick, so it barely fits. The major issue for a Mini 4 with a skin would be the thickness, and how easily it would be gripped by the clamp.  Also, the slot in the Phantom styrofoam box is about 13 mm , so a skin for the mini needs to be less than 5 mm thick to be on the safe side if one wants to carry it in the box.

Hmmm ok...I was looking at these.  And DUH!...I should just try mounting the skin I have in my hand in the photo above..  I just thought of that.

YES, iPad mini will fit fine in the P4 controller with case attached.  Has about 1 inch to spare vertically.

I use a mini 4 with the invisible shield screen protector. If you do that and use the Apple silicone case it will fit fine with plenty to spare.
